  • i upgraded my Can Am Defender XMR tires to 32" Evil M1 tires from the ITP Mud tires. I review tires sizes and how they are not marked accurately on the tire. If you're upgrading your tires you should watch, I hope you learn something new. I wanted a tire which wouldn't damage my lawn, and would be great on the trail. Please have video setting at 1080P

    Warren Tavernia i haven’t been able to respond directly to your comment so I hope this reply finds you. I was extremely concerned that the larger tires would stress the suspension and drivetrain that is why I weighed the tires in the video. The total tired weight add is only 4lbs which I and engineer dave believe to be negligible. Although engineer Dave believes the 10% increase in diameter will not stress the drivetrain I’m still somewhat concerned. I don’t stab the throttle, I roll in and out of the throttle and rarely use full throttle. So hopefully smart driving will help. The xmr A arms are big think and appear to be steel. This machine is impressive overbuilt for mud...so much beyond a standard Defender as why I purchased it. So hopefully this over engineered machine and smart driving will lower the chances of a breakage. Thank you

    Due to the difference in to diameter your new tires affect your acceleration but your top speed has now increased. A fair trade off for your increased ground clearance. New clutching will get your acceleration back but is it really worth the added cost?

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Grant Harmsworth no I don’t think it is. Today I climbed out toughest hills in high gear no diff lock and the clutch, transmission and engine had no issues with the 32” tires. I agree with you comment thank you for commenting!

    Mitchell, why did you get the xmr versus almost any of the other models? The xmr is really made for the mud and water? That’s why it comes with the snorkel and mud tires. Just curious?

    Are both the front and the rear tires the 10" wide tires.? I looked at AMS's web site and they only list 32 x 10 x 14s and they list them as fronts. 165 miles on ours and we love it, but the tires aren't great for our location.

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chad Pollock yes I thought I stated in the video all 4 corners 10” wide. The 32” tires made my machine. I didn’t want the attention it gets at the trail head, people what to come over and ask. The fronts to scuff the inner fender well, nothing serious and only in extreme bumps. I love hope you do also. Thank for commenting don’t hesitate to ask. 😊

    Now with the new wheels. Are the rims the same size all way around or is it like the stock where the rear rims are wider then the front?

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kyle I purchased rims that were the same at all four corners...I don't remember the stock setup having different sized rims...I just don't. My 32" tires and rims were all the same size. This was a great setup and fun on the trail and yard...great machine. I still have the rims tires and may be selling them.

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jerry they are 8 ply radials, I should’ve mentioned that. This machine has a ton of low end torque I think it should be fine on most hills. They still have a deep lug but there are many should be a great trail tire...awesome on turf! Thank you for watching we’re riding Sunday...taking atv.

    Do you think adding some 1" spacers on front would prevent any rubbing? The adding 2" in back to try to even out the stance better? Thanks

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Patrick Doyle only lifting the front would help with the rubbing, I think preloading the front may eliminate it. Not enough for me to worry about it. Thank you commenting stay healthy 🙂

    I just picked up a new defender xmr and I liked the s3 rear bumper you have on yours. Are you still able to fully tilt the bed back to gain access to the engine or does the bumper hit the back tires?

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No Steve, i have many minutes of video of me modifying and painting the bumper to open fully missing my larger tires.
      I believe the bumper actual hit the stock tire, i have to look at the video. Maybe i'll post that video this week. The EMR dump does not open as far as the standard defender dump...it is limited at the hinge i believe. I'm not sure.
      I love the bumper, it was the only one that matched the front bumper. As usual we have to finish the job for the manufacturers.

    This is the first video of yours that I've seen/watched. interesting. Do any of your riding buddies run a ranger xp 1000? If so how do the machines compare tires aside? At one point I thought I heard you say "now on my ranger.... " Or when I had my ranger...." ???? I know these xmrs are new but in general I'm going back and forth on what to get a ranger or can am. HD 10. Regardless they're a lot of $ for my side of the street.

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Tom, I've had two Rangers, and this is my second Can am after a lapse of 6 years, The Ranger is a fine product, and the only SXS available with air conditioning. Many prefer the Ranger over the Defender. The Defender, especially the XMR are well engineered machines. The Defender Cab for me is roomier, easier to get in and out of, the suspension components are massive, seats more comfortable, the engine is quieter and torque power plant. The Defender made Polaris improve their Ranger. I don't think you would be disappointed with either brand...frankly SXS's started with Polaris. After owner 6 SXS in 13 years...i have a video on my sxs history, i'm happy i purchased a defender...the XMR is a beast! Please don't hesitate to ask more questions, I'll try to respond sooner. Thank you for commenting.
