@@shinasanthosh4832 Yes, they teach for getting A+ for the exams. They dont teach the concepts well & students are happy to flash their A+ badges . Clear concept is the factor which decides the entrance results. Teachers need to ensure that kids are developed for problem solving and not to just remember the words and write on answer papers. I would say, the system is better in Kerala where 50% questions is from Maths ( engg oriented ) wherein other states , its equally distributed between Physics, Chemistry and Maths

@@crackerzoom8424 There is absolutely no sense of this rant ! Kerala syllabus students haven't prepared for the entrance exams like the CBSE guys. Infact, the PU exams are simpler which allowed them to normalise with the CBSE students. Then, the only difference is the entrance score. Whoever did better in entrance, got a better ranking .. Period !

Both state and cbse students are following same NCERT text books..Then why this difference in results?It's sure the state system of education and teachers are the cause of this tragedy.. Thank you sir for this discussion
System of education - The only drawback is the relatively easy question papers for the final exams which gives a false self appraising attitude for students. They get carried away thinking that they got 300/300 for PCM. Reality hits very hard when they start solving problems for entrance. And that matters. Teachers are not qualified enough to make these students ready for entrances. I bet , how many of these teachers cleared entrances but opted for teaching profession because of their passion for teaching ? Maximum 5% .. the rest 95% are not competent enough to prepare the kids. This is not state specific but a pan India issue . Unless we address that, we can have the same chat after 10 years as well.

Wrong.. You didnt see other entrances, I believe. KCET( Karnataka) entrance gives 50% weightage for PCM. Also, Maths, Physics , Chemistry questiosna re equally distributed for the entrance

Exam Quality should be improved in state syllabus. Then automatically students will prepare in high level. Nowadays last 2month TH-cam classes can score a good mark in state exam,this should be avoided and let the students clear basics and core knowledge in subjects instead of last month shortcuts and capsules and finally they can improve their level.

Sir there is an injustice to state students regarding the keam result, let me clarify, for argument sake lets say a state syllabus student scored 100 percentile in cbt exam and scored 360/360(PCM) in board exam. So when aggregating the two his board score will be normalised to 273/300 which will make a huge difference in his rank.. It is very sad that due to this normalisation a state student can't secure first rank eventhough he did everything he can..
I agree that state students are not performing well in jee mains and advanced. But as keam exam is concerned they can also perform well..
Due to this normalisation our bright students are getting lesser ranks than they deserve
The only way to change this is to publish the ranklist based on entrance scores irrespective of the PCM marks and board . After all this exam is to chekc how capable the kids are to advance in professional education. The PCM marks inclusion is rubbish and should be removed. In tamilnadu, the ranking is only based on PCM marks and in Karnataka, same like kerala . Imagine how the CBSE kids in Tamilnadu will suffer as the ranking is based on PCM ? In Karnataka, this year, 39 questions were removed as they were out of syllabus and the marks were calculated for 141 instead of 180. What would have happened to those kids spent time for solving those 39 questions ( they would have prepared themselves for JEE mains) ? They couldnt finish 180 questions but very confident that they solved enough questions to get a rank. But boom - 39 removed , and thrown out of the ranks .. And ComedK where other state students can also write will have reserved seats for colleges in Karnataka . This is all nonsense and a shitshow !

That's fair, overall. It is far easier to get marks in State Syllabus. The normalisation is based on average marks. This is an issue for top students getting near 100 percentile. Even if a student from State Syllabus top the KEAM and get full mark for plus two, he won't get within even top 50. For average students, this is not a problem.

The problem with state board is that teachers are not qualified for teaching or preparing students to the level of entrance exams. They are very difficult and tricky and need consistent efforts from the part of govt teachers for improving them to the level of neet or keam entrance. Most of the teachers are about to retire and there is such a huge age gap, so for them changing themselves to the level of an entrance coaching expert is never that easy maybe because they were not entrance aspirants so how come they are familar with the coaching culture. The irony is that the new NEP is against coaching culture but doesn't do a single thing to minimise it.Then comes the kerala board exams which are actually much different compared to the objective type questions encountered by students in entrance exams . So the learning and teaching style differs according to the learning outcome expected of them. The best way to tackle this is by avoiding the board exam score at all costs and fix the minimum pass percentage required by each board based on difficulty or whatever.

It is high time that the keam authorities stop considering plus two marks for making the rank list. Rank list should be made only by considering the entrance marks. Last year even though i scored quite a good score, my rank came out to be 1400 after normalisation as i was from state syllabus. This happened not just to me but also to many of my classmates as well.

Just imagine a state syllabua student ( as you say, who get 'Free' marks in board) scored a decent percentile in keam ( by studying with his shallow syllabus ) ...then think about a cbse student ( whom according to you is twice intelligent and capable of cracking any ebtrance exam than the poor stat srudents!) who scored the same precentile as the state kid....now when the rank list comes, the cbse kid is far ahead of the state kid..isnt this what we call DISCRIMINATION??...we state students are losing the value of our hard earned marks in entrance test due to the addition of pcm.marks...we need a new ranklist without adding pcm score ...then no one will get any advantage...it will be pirely based on our ability to tackle the entrance test...And you guys will not have the advantage of extra 10 marks along with cutting our marks, and also will not get a chance to mock us 😊
