Lionel luthor is disappearing into a sea of everyone. Which means that he could be anywhere, at anytime. He had been introduced into the world once more. The symbolism shown and this scene in general is incredible. People can bash smallville all they want, but when they produced an epic scene like this, then cut to black with credits, it hyped everyone who ever loved the show.
Everyone who watched thw show knew Tess wanted Clark. She clearly was hot for him since season 7. Funny thing she started to grow on Clark and he took more of a liking to her by Season 10. Remember in the show finale, Lex even impied to Tess, before he killed her, that he knew she liked Clark...
I think this put the candle on the cake for Tess. Remember the last scene in the finale when she said Lex was too late in saving her (from becoming just like Lex) because Clark already did.
I totally agree with extreme21490 in that "it really felt like he [Lionel] was talking straight to the audience." Just so fans know, as of now, John Glover will appear in a total of four episodes for Season Ten. The tenth episode "Luthor" was his first on-screen appearance. In early 2011, he will reprise his role in the 13th episode called "Beacon." Chloe Sullivan and Martha Kent will be in this episode. It is possible that a teenage Lex (Lucas Grabeel from Season 6's "Reunion") will feature...
Awesome awesome awesome last scenes of that episode. The Tess-Clark talk was magic-movie like magic. Well played as actors and well written. The Lionel scene was perfect, chilling and movie-like as well for the small screen. I also can't wait to see how it all turns out. Season 10 is turning out to be awesome so far even if Rosenbaum doesn't return
This Scene Was Fanstastic What A Episode Smallville Season 10 The Best Season Ever And Lionel Saying Wouldn't Want To Miss How It All Turns Outt Just A Epic Ending
@soxnation3419 the forth wall is an imaginary wall between the audence and the charaters, the audence observes the world of the charaters through this wall. When the forth wall is broken the charater speaks directly to the audence. I think thats right....
@soxnation3419 Basically it's when a character acknowledges the viewer. In this case he looks straight at the camera when he says "Wouldn't wanna miss how it all turns out."
I loved the ending when Lionel from the other Earth was shown being on Smallville's Earth-1 and John Glover broke the 4th wall. I remember at the time how I was hoping the Lionel who returned would have been revealed as the original evil Lionel of this show who would have been explained to switch Earths so the good Lionel that Lex killed would have been the one originally from the other Earth but I guess it's better they didn't do that & redeemed the original Lionel instead. I think the main plot of season 10 should have been a Crisis-like plot between the 2 Earths instead of the crappy Darkseid plot that just sucked since there was no payoff and it could never be properly done with the low budget this show had at the time. Add Intergang led by a returned Morgan Edge with Bruno Mannheim as his 2nd in command to the main plot as well and it would have been a much better season than what we got. I loved the plots of Luthor & Kent in season 10 and also liked Lazarus very much for the Lex clone plot involving the long awaited return of Cadmus Labs that Lex bought back in season 1 (Shimmer I think).
No it would not have made sense. The whole message of the show was that there is always hope with good inside everyone. The Lionel turning good, was called character development
@@antonydandrea I'd mostly agree except only a couple of episodes before he died in Traveler, Lionel went back to his evil ways by having that guy kidnap Clark and hold him in the cage. That literally made no sense after he'd been helping Clark for the past couple years & even gave that device with his final words. I know there was a writer's strike at that time, but a plot like that was inexcusable just a couple episodes before Lionel's death. Maybe it was a crappy way of alienating Lionel from Clark so he wouldn't be there to protect him from Lex in Descent, but it was still very stupid. They could've done that by having Clark away from Metropolis, tracking or dealing with Brainiac in some other part of the world and had Lex kill Lionel just before Clark's return to Metropolis. Or they could've had the guy who trapped Clark in that episode be someone who worked for Lionel in the past and be someone Lex hired at the present day (back then) to create distrust between Clark & Lionel as a premeditated precaution prior to killing Lionel and done it in a way where the guy would've learned about Clark's vulnerability to kryptonite and trap Clark. Everything involving the Veritas plot was garbage & full of retcons & contradictions, so it wasn't just the events of Traveler that were badly written.
I've always liked Tess. And I always thought she ultimately would redeem herself to the light since she was on the back and forth ulterior motive and manipulation zig in and out path. Hope the show decides to keep her in the light and with the home team.
after watchin this sence i really feel 4 Tess cuz of stupid Lionel she was raise all alone and thus became da person she is cold hearted and bad til she realized dt deep down she isnt like that and join da home team GO TESS!!! I LOVE YAAA
Honestly as much as I love Tess turning out to be a Luthor, it was kinda depressing because that meant her and Lex would never reconcile and be totally bad ass
Is a shame that they never explored a relationship with Tess and Clark. But of why known, because Clark is the epitome of morality, no one liked the idea of having Tess and Clark as couple, in fanfiction or in youtube.
Meh I would have preferred to see Tess and Oliver become a more official couple. Didn't like that they killed off Jimmy and forced that relationship between Oliver and Chloe before the show ended. Never felt natural at all to me.
Go to KryptonSite for all upcoming news. So far, Season Ten episodes 01 - 17 have been named: Lazarus, Shield, Supergirl, Homecoming, Isis, Harvest, Ambush, Abandoned, Patriot, Luthor, Icarus, Collateral, Beacon, Masquerade, Fortune, Scion, and Booster.
Love this scene with Clark and Tess. I really feel sad for Tess her life story is so much twister than the rest of the cast, so sad. My question is would Oliver find out and if he does how would he react cuz he killed her half brother who is in fact Lex?
he would be ok. He already had crisis over killing somebody. Moreover Tess hated lex after what he had done to her. So I guess they both would be fine. And they already are a team It's not the same situation when Oliver knew that Lionel killed his parents.
@harves01 dude what season are you talkin about this is season 10 that was season 6 and no lionel didn't die when the phantom tore apart the dam lex killed lionel midway season 7.
what is this fourth wall everyone is talking about?? is that the wall between scene and viewer? like lionel talking to us is the breaking the 4th wall? lol
She wasn’t exactly “dead” in the fullest sense. Early on in the Season 11 comics, we learn that her consciousness transferred to Lex and is sharing head space with him. Desperate to be rid of this uninvited Jiminy Cricket, Lex embarks on a program to create artifical bodies that can house a human consciousness. Eventually Emil perfects the process and gives Tess a new body, essentially “resurrecting” her.
@@Melissa.Garrett Yeah, I known, even that I never reached that far, she become the Smallville version of Red Tornado, after becoming an artificial intelligence, when she was one, she always liked to annoy Lex even that he never remember who she was.
I can't stand this episode. It completely throws the original Lionel's morrally ambiguous character under the bus. If Clark really thought that "Luthor blood is poison", he wouldn't have gone to the man's funeral. Hell, if that were true, Lionel never would've died in the first place. He was killed protecting Clark.

Only Lionel can break the fourth wall! Love this man!
That was an awesome idea from whomever. Clearly having him tell that to the audience. It is the final season after all.
She always felt attracted to Clark that's why when Ultraman kissed her she gave in that easy
Loved this episode and how Lionel breaks the fourth wall at the end.
I love it how Lionel looked right at the camera when is said that last line.
That ending was just pure awesomeness!!!

No question of a doubt....
Season 8*
Tess is my #2 or #3 and Chloe was my crush before Lois. Tessa was such a hottie. I follow Cassidy Freemen on IG her and Erica.
Tess wasnt in s7 lol
Watching this scene made me more sympathetic toward Tess. Love how Clark comfort her. Now the end scene was like wow.
I think this put the candle on the cake for Tess. Remember the last scene in the finale when she said Lex was too late in saving her (from becoming just like Lex) because Clark already did.

The last scene with Lionel makes you wonder... Is Lex really the most dangerous character of the story?...
Lex became way worse than Lionel so yes, he really was.

Hmm, imagine a world where Lex was raised by the Kents.
That would have made more sense actually have both lionels switched the good one from the other earth and the bad one from regular smallvilleverse

warrior goddess

one of the BEST #Smallville episodes ever! Clark Luthor was HOT!
Lionel Luthor is Back!!!!!
i love u tess
Lex+Lionel+Darkseid.... awesomeness
Honestly as much as I love Tess turning out to be a Luthor, it was kinda depressing because that meant her and Lex would never reconcile and be totally bad ass
For some reason the Tess/Clark scene reminds me of Chloe/Clark in Lineage. Gah! John Glover is so good!!!
This scene is very well done i really want to see when find out Tess she is a clone of the orginal Tess.
hahaha exactly my thoughts! - He's addressing how the show is going to end!
@harves01 lionel was killed by lex later on in the 7th season. he didnt die in that episode where the phantom threw him or pushed him or whatever
Tess is amazing character

It happened in the Mirror Universe
the one problem i have is how is he going to get any support with him technically dead i mean he has no money now and well so many loop holes

Actually he's back for only two.
what is this fourth wall everyone is talking about?? is that the wall between scene and viewer? like lionel talking to us is the breaking the 4th wall? lol
holy shit, lionel is back..
Ok that make sense now the actual Lionel Luthor did die clark k didn't travel back alone the au Lionel tagged along
any 1 know what the song is called at the of esp 11??
Does anyone besides me believes that this Lionel is worst than the one old one and different in some ways?
@Stynd shes not a clone
tess is hot
@Stynd wait what??? this tess is a clone of the real tess? is that true? like a spoiler??? lol please tell me! haha
@rhiny1234 shes not a clone
I think maybe Lionel Luthor join forces with Lex Luthor .
And then she was killed.
I hate what he did to her she deserved to be happy

He went because Lionel changed after becoming Jor-El's oracle. Except for the Kryptonite cage thing he truly tried to help Clark.
This is a Mirror Lionel who is a thousand times worst than the original
