Awesome share ! Had no idea we could change the head ! My wife got me the 20V trimmer xmas last year, and I noticed how fast it was eating the wire, and randomly watching your video, just saw this, amazing ! Ordered the replacement head you mentionned. I just replaced my head. Lowe's had the T35 head on the shelf for $29.95. It screwed off and on. No adapters needed. No washer. I would have had to special order a DeWalt. Thanks much. The guy at Lowe's asked if the U tube channel was you and if it was you saying it will fit then it will fit.

This guy is 100% correct. I got m 4:34 y 20 V about 45 days ago. I’ve gone through 4 spool heads and the problem for me is the spool cover cap. It keep cracking and breaking. They say they don’t have just the spool cap cover so they keep sending me the complete spool. I can’t believe Dewalt does not give the option to buy the cover only for my model. Is there another spool cap cover only that will work on the 20V? First time watching Tim and I was amazed what he said about the spool head. Thanks Tim. I’m now a follower too 👍👍👍. Ron

One thing that needs to be said...if you have an older Dewalt 60v trimmer with the motor attached directly above the trim line feeder you need to make sure that the vents around the motor housing are kept open and clear especially when doing heavy thick weed wacking for extended periods. After 7 years of heavy use on my 3 acre property I let the weeds get too thick and went thru six 9 amp hour batteries one right after the other and because the vent covers were blocked with 1/2 inch of green weed goop the motor overheated and started smoking rendering it permanently burnt out. I believe the newer 60v models have been redesigned with the motor installed up next to the battery housing which fixes the vent clogging problem!

I actually had more trouble with the 20 v and hurting my back. If you aren’t try getting a harness and use that and move your feet not just your waist if it gets too bad

Do you know if the 60v brush cutter attachment will some way fit the 20v weed trimmer (DCST922)? I’m wondering if the shaft of the 20v trimmer is a diff size or the 20v too under powered, Couldn’t I just put on a 60v battery on ? From Q&A on Home Depot just says only available for 60v trimmers
For the 60v, did the head just mount right up or did u need to swap out the arbor?

Personally, I find the Stihl AutoCut series (like DeWalt's QuickLoad heads) more convenient for loading the line. Hence my question: for 20V models, is there any alternative to Husqvarna's T35? Din anyone try the Husqvarna's RapidReplace R25 trimmer head?

@@TOOLMANTIMSWORKSHOP I put the T35 on my 40v. Perfect. Looks like the 40v and 60v have same bolt to screw heads onto. So, the 25-2 should work on the 40v. I don't care for Auto Feeds around the house. Often I use a shorter line length around gardens and islands. More exact control for me.

I tried both the Stihl 25-2 and the Husqvarna T35 for me dewalt 60volt and the thread insert was too large. Its almost like I have a 20V head on my 60V trimmer

Sorry I haven’t had that model to test. At best I’d say it’s a 50-50 chance as it seems dewakt likes to use different head assemblies on every single whipper
I am totally going to be the odd man out but, my 20v and 60v heads have been great. Knock wood, I hope not to have to change them soon.

Like others have pointed out, the Stihl AutoCut 25-2 does *not* *fit* on the DeWalt 60v DCST972 trimmer. The threads on the Stihl are narrow, and the threads on the DeWalt are wide.
[UPDATE: I can confirm that the Husqvarna T35 537388101 *does* work. I used their little spacer so the line properly hits the guard blade.]

I just installed the Husquvarna on the 60 volt. I guess it won't work..
I bought the auto cut 25-2 to replace the trimmer head on my 60v but the threads were different so it did not thread in. Is there a different version of it maybe?
What model do you have if the 60v trimmer dcst972 is the one I have and I have the auto cut installed on it

I am a Dewalt fan but I absolutely agree that Dewalt weed trimmer head is a garbage.

My son got the 20V & it has crapped out before using the entire roll of line that came factory installed. So, I’d say the line feed isn’t the weak point on this product. DeWalt isn’t impressing me with their response in that we are being asked to pay to send it to a repair center.
oh wow I would take it back to where you bought i had to pay shipping on my warrantys one way as well. but they were on items a year old

the thread pitch is different than the 2023 dewalt trimmer, doesn't work.
You're not put speed feed heads on them
Why upgrade the head when the motor will go bad??? No warranty.
