It's funny that the vocalist is from Shadow of Intent, because that first 30 seconds of intro, I kept waiting for it to erupt into Chris Wiseman's signature Currents riff blasts. Was not expecting the blast beats- this feels so much like a Currents song made deathcore.

Totally agree. I’ve been a strictly metalcore fan since I was 11. I always loved the heavy but with deathcore it seemed to lack any melody or a tangible rhythm. But ever since I listened to intensify genocide by shadow of intent a couple years back I started dipping my toes into it. Then demon king by brand of sacrifice dropped and I listened to that and enemy by them as well and I’ve been hooked onto this new wave of deathcore. I still love metalcore but there is just something about these new deathcore bands like shadow of intent, brand of sacrifice, slaughter to prevail ect. (I know they aren’t NEW new but relatively new to popularity) that incorporates the heavy with rhythm and melody that really pushes it beyond just blast beats for the sake of them

I think this year is their year. They've quadrupled their following just since this came out, and suddenly EVERYBODY's ears perk up when they hear the name Blake Mullens.
If you want another great deathcore band go check Shallow Dissent- Dwell in the void this is their debute song but this is really good and this is produced by the singer/guitarist of dissembodied tyrants so really good stuff !
