    This video is awesome and helped me a lot. There is just one thing I want to add. The whole thing with that dubble fuse is a bit over engineered. When u connect the cables there are three pins not attached. One of them is the 12V power cable. (I think it’s pin 14).
    Just connect this one and u do not need to handle with the fuse since I think that’s pretty challenging.

    Very informative video. Thank you for that. I'm looking to change the head unit for a Pioneer one and have been told I need to replace the JBL amp as well. Is this usual in your experience.

    I have a question, why do we need to replace the power cable, can we not plug the default one that comes with the car into the new head unit?

    Help, my 308 radio won't slide out like in the video, there's a physicsl catch to stop it sliding it past the lower lower tray?

      @@DemonKong830 Common enough, sounds like someone has not used the correct release keys in the past and so have damaged the release mechanism. When this happens part of the mechanism catches on the dashboard and can be a pig to remove. No easy way to get the thing out now.

    I have a android 11 device. Is it possible to fit in a 308. The headunit has a 20 pin slot to attach iso block.

    Hi Great video...can I ask why you need the live feed form the fusebox as my iso adaptor lead plugged in and worked out of the packet.
    Could you also tell me which wire I need to connect the power lead from the fakra adaptor to does it need a perm or switched live and can I use the amp turn on lead coming out of the aftermarket radio?

    Did we nee to cut it of the black panel

    • @PJsprojects
      @PJsprojects  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You might be able to get a face plate that leaves it in the car but the supplier only had one option for this install and that needed the black bar cutting out.

    Hi dose the cd work

    • @PJsprojects
      @PJsprojects  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This guide shows how to remove the original radio/cd player so no that one won’t work as it’s no longer fitted to the vehicle.
      If you buy an aftermarket head unit one with a cd player in it then yes that would work.

    This 308 is a pain in the ass. Worst car for changing the radio unit. Mostly because of the communication between radio and the info screen on the top of the dashbord. How can I change my car settings with the new radio? All controls and options are accessible through the original radio.

    • @PJsprojects
      @PJsprojects  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can't unless you buy a very expensive control interface adaptor (around £150).

    • @Chilled_Wombat
      @Chilled_Wombat 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PJsprojects I found a great solution. Basically I just want a USB port, so I found the original RD45 Radio. Very cheap + USB port at the back for a USB cable. It will read the USB stick just finde, that includes Titel and other informations, shown on the display.

    • @Chilled_Wombat
      @Chilled_Wombat 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PJsprojects Good idea for a video though, that RD45 radio. "Easy USB port for less money", or so. ^^

      PJs projects does the info screen above still show the date etc with an aftermarket head unit? Appreciate you won’t be able to change any settings, but does the info display go dead with the new unit?

    • @robb3200
      @robb3200 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@philcjackson No the info just resets, the date and time just resets and you can't control anything on that screen anymore. I just ignore it, I have a pioneer but I'm fitting a sony today to replace it so I have bluetooth as well as AUX, so I can have less wires.

    The main photo to the video was showing a smart screen. Nothink to do with the video

    • @PJsprojects
      @PJsprojects  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The video has been up years and has always showed the correct screen, I can only assume it’s a TH-cam glitch.
