I need to know more about the history of Jared Halley. How did you get so good at this?! A lifetime of choir experience? Music school? Perfect pitch? You have it _down to a science_
So I’ve been singing the majority of my life...when I was a kid I started performing in musicals at a local community theater. I played the role of Tiny Tim in A Christmas Carol at age 5 and loved it :) I always sang a lot with my family growing up. My dad taught us kids how to sing by ear and figure out harmonies together. We would go out caroling together as a family every Christmas and still do to this day even though it’s a lot more difficult to do with everyone’s busy schedules :) I also sang a lot in church...in choir, special musical numbers, and just singing hymns in the congregation. I started taking singing a little more seriously when I was about a sophomore in high school. I was in two choirs (chorale and Acapella) and had a smaller 5 guy acapella group as an extra curricular. I continued to perform in high school musicals. (Oliver twist, Harold hill) That’s also when I started taking voice lessons...I took about 3 years on and off throughout high school. So yeah tons of singing in my teen years :) Then I decided to pursue a vocal degree at the Ohio State University. I did that for a year and learned a ton, but quickly decided that it wasn’t for me since it was more focused on classical/opera training which was not my end goal. So I changed my degree to communications/Marketing and graduated with that degree while still exploring my options in the music industry (which weren’t many unfortunately)...Fast forward a few years, I discovered people were making a living being “Online Musicians” and they were doing it all on their own! So I just decided why not me?! And went for it :) I started doing a TON of research on my own and continue to do so...all production stuff I learned just through online research. How to record, mix, master, film, edit video, etc...all through online tutorials/blogs. Specifically acapella production was interesting to figure out, lots of trail and error in the studio experimenting. I continue to learn and always try to improve with every project. I feel like my mixing especially improves with every mix...constantly training my ears! anyways, you prob didn’t want my life story, but there ya have it haha! Hope that answers your questions :)

Just when i was feeling abit down with everything going on around the world, you release this and makes problems go away for awhile. Great cover Jared, stay safe
Oh Wow! That is one of my most favorite of songs! I listened to it a whole lot after my husband passed away and it actually helped me with the depression that came with it. You are one very talented man and I hope you will always be able to do what you love for a decent (hopefully) living. Man I LOVE this! I have ALWAYS loved singing.... was in choir in 6th grade all the way through my senior year in high school. Always did solos and had a blast. I also worked at Disneyland back in 1990 and auditioned and made it into the Disney employee choir.... was part of the living Christmas tree performance. That was THE BEST. I SO wish I had stuck with it... I wanted to be a singer but I had NO support or encouragement. Was always told it’s just a hobby and get a degree and a job. So I did and then had a family but I have ALWAYS Loved singing, musicals, etc. I wish I could have done more but at my age(53) it’s probably too late. If I have the courage (and opportunity) I would try to do local theater.... but not sure they want a 53 year old with no experience. To anyone who wants to do this.... don’t listen to anyone tell you it’s silly. Try your best and give it a shot!!
Dude..... Like honestly..... How bloody long have you trained to be able to hold that ending note for so long?! I've been singing this song since it came out give or take a couple of years! I STILL CAN'T HOLD THAT NOTE THAT LONG ANYMORE!!! T.T So beautiful!!!!
Not only are you an incredible singer/beatboxer, it's just so refreshing to actually understand what the hell the singer is actually saying. You enunciate so much better than some of the artists you cover.
This was amazing. 😲 I recently discovered your videos from a top 50 cover video and haven't stopped watching since. Keep up the good work. Also, Lead 3 killed it 💃🏿😆
One of the things I’ve always been curious about is if you record each part as one take. I think not because I feel like you step off camera to make cuts less obvious. Although, I could be wrong! Awesome as always!
Ahhh I love this song SOOOO much. Your voice is so addictive to listen to. You always give it your all and have so much soul and fun. So glad to have found your videos years ago. I love hearing all the different songs you choose. Your music has gotten me through some tough times and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Maybe one day you could do starship and their greatest songs.... Of course my all time fav is Sara! Keep on rocking it out.

Great! I loved this song before this, but this acapella version captures the tone of the music perfectly. Nice work! I look forward to listening to more of your music. :)
I thought "Hooked on a feeling" was your best work. It completely blew me away. Loved the way you handled the different pitches. I like how you put in each box what parts were what as well. Thank you so much for sharing this cover with us and all the hard work you put into it. Again, it was amazing and I loved it!!!!!❤

You know, I really like the fact that you dance in these. It makes it more interesting to watch. The singing/background music is phenomenal, but it's nice to have something visual to keep one's attention too.
I just love how you multitask and still have perfection. Thank you Jared for this masterpiece!!!!
This is by far the best cover of this song. I've been searching for a long time, and I've finally found it.

Wow!!! You are so incredibly talented. This was arranged and done so well! This is one of my favorite songs and amy Lee is such a fantastic singer and you definitely did it and her justice. This is phenomenal... I don't even know how one person can pull this off, let alone manage to make it sound this good. And I refuse to believe that those drum sounds are human made. No way! Well done, sir!
Another amazing video! Love rock songs! It would really be nice to see more of these 😁
