Butter for the ears
Along with a few million others I first saw Jonathan on BGT and was amazed that a 17 year old boy could have a voice like that. How ridiculous that he and Charlotte were beaten by a dancing dog. However, as good as he was he was still quite raw and obviously needed further voice training. To my eternal regret I did not hear him sing again until late 2022 when I happened to see him on TH-cam. I was absolutely stunned at how good he had become. He has now taken over from Pavarotti as my favourite singer of all time and this video of Io Si is the greatest, most beautiful, singing performance I have heard in my 80 years on this earth. If only I could live to be 110 so I could see how good he will become. I now have a bucket list with one item on it. To see Jonathan in a live performance. Fingers crossed. Best wishes to you Jonathan.

I loved his voice when he was 17 year young, but I adore his voice now he is 27.

I agree! I've followed Jonathan since his early days of BGT. His voice keeps getting better and better. The ONLY problem I have with Jonathan, is some of his songs make me cry...a lot. He is the Maestro.

I agree. I feel so blessed that I didn’t miss him. I’m 77 , and it thrills me that he will go on. Kudos to his music teacher who knew how to get him out there. Without her foresight the world might have missed this miracle of talent.

I wanted to return from my comment 1 year ago. I have since had surgery last week, early November 2022, removing all of the metal in my leg (16 screws and almost 2 feet of titanium plates). From being told I'd have the plates and screws in my leg for the rest of my life as well as a high probability of not walking the same or working out, I'm proud to say I walk normal, have even ran and lift weights again. I still listen to your songs, it's incredible the amount of peace, joy and excitement that you bring. My 10 month old and Wife love your music as well. Thank you!

I suffer from anxiety and depression and some days are just hard, if you know what I mean. Since watching you on BGT and watching you progress till now, you have brought me such peace in the times when I most need it. You are absolutely amazing and I can't wait for new songs, interviews, chats from your studio....just anything! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your beautiful voice and spirit.
As you probably know, Jonathan suffers with anxiety and depression too. A few months before the first BGT audition, he had been bullied so badly about his weight that he quit school and became suicidal. His Video of the song "Compass" refers to that time. That song is what got me through 2020. He also has co-authored a children's book about bullying called "Jonathan the Porcupine" and does a reading of it here on You Tube. People bring their copy to his Meet and Greets to be signed, available on Amazon. I do know he has a healing voice for many of us. Wishing you the very best.

Beyond the name, I was unfamiliar with Pavarotti. So I've been listening to him. He has a magnificent voice. But my untrained ear does not hear the passion in Pavarotti that I FEEL with Jonathan Antoine. This Io Si from Jonathan is just glorious.

I still play their audition frequently. To see how meek he was until he's almost transformed through the music still touches me deeply.
And to see how he was viewed until he started singing...some people only look as far as the surface, never realizing that the true value of a person is what's in their souls.

Laura Pausini wrote words after she saw the movie and wanted song had same message of the movie. And when a music is amazing is great that others singers play same song..

Oh my goodness...every time I think he has he has reached the boundaries of heaven and earth, he releases a new song that pushes the envelope even further--and I have a new favorite song. I think they should pack some of his recordings in to one of those space capsules, turn the volume up full blast, then shot it out into the galaxy so he truly sing among the stars.

My God! I think this is the most perfect song ever composed for Jonathan and this is the best song recorded by Jonathan. His perfection astounds me to no end. He is getting better and better! I love the harmony added by duplicating his own voice from other tracts. He was harmonizing with himself! I am so glad to be still here on earth so I can listen to his songs. He keeps me going! WOW!

I mean this in the best way possible, but if there was ever a new live action or opera/Broadway version of the hunchback of notre dame, I would be very happy to see him cast as Quasimodo. He has SUCH a warmth about him, his voice is powerful enough to convey the raw emotion of the story and based on his own experience with being judged for his appearance, I think it would really be an authentic performance. Can you imagine this man singing heavens light? I'd die.
I have the full recorded production of the Hunchback of Norte Dame. I understand that this would have been to expensive to put on Broadway, with the full cast of singers that were used on the album.

Laura Pausini's version of this song is grand and beautiful but (and this may be my own personal bias) Jonathan's captures the essence of it moreso in my mind and heart. Working Toward IT. Yes I do know exactly what you mean, because his voice affects me in exactly the same way. I've never in my life been moved to tears by an operatic voice even while still appreciating them, until Jonathan opened his mouth to sing that day on BGT. I cried then & I still cry with emotion whenever he sings, it's just amazing. He must be an angel, that's the only explanation.

As great as Jonathan's voice was only a couple years ago I continue seeing improvements in it. The one trouble I have is trying to stop listening to him and that wonderful voice.
I would say changes as he gets older not improved ,His world class performance on BGT made him a Star within 30 seconds.

Jonathan has a concert tour that is being rescheduled, Chicago, 2 in Florida, Troy NY, Trenton NJ, Mesa AZ, and his return to Toronto new date is scheduled for Dec. 12, 2021, at The Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

he has nothing to do with Pavarotti, different voice, you can compare with Bocelli, not Pavarotti.
I adore seeing his control, timbre and depth of tone developing. He was an astonishing talent at 17, but he was clearly still developing technically and emotionally. A performance is as much composure as it is passion and ability. He's adding those to his skill set now and you have to say that he will almost certainly go on to establish himself as one of the world's best and most loved tenors. Has he done a full opera yet? That will elevate him further.
