If that mount is stainless steel, attaching it directly to the paint free aluminum will cause galvanic corrosion. That’s probably why there was a rubber pad in the instructions.
I use max rad antenna that's tuned with radio also I ground antenna with hot wire red to body frame part stay away from engine feed back no on my patrol cars done wiring same way due to mountains or valley get better transmit or recving signal . Power there outlets that mount drill into dash get straight power which plug or unplug on Amazon that far better than factory I'm adding with fuse of course . Now thought using momentary switch button on Amazon easy install and wire . I have rough control system switch panel were wire every thing to system it can be done several ways .
