Wow! Brenton was your Dad! I have a vinyl album signed by all the members from 1981. I know what it's like to lose a creative talent.
My father was an Australian poet named Bruce Dawe who died less than three years ago.

I knew your dad personally and can tell you he was and will always be remembered as kind, caring, and a loss to us all. I remember saying I should get you're signature for when you become famous, he said you have my signature on your heart. I am deeply saddened by your loss and those who knew him. x R.I.P. Dear Brenton August Lucanus.

I'm so sorry for your loss, my sincere condolences. 🫂❣️
Do you mind me asking when your dad passed and why he left the band? I heard so many crazy rumors and would like to know the truth.
Sorry if it's too hard to talk about, I mean no disrespect.

How they never became international stars escapes me. They were and still are legends in the neighbourhood in which i grew up. The talent that Australia produced during that era was amazing - we had a great live pub scene and bands weren't just doing covers. I do miss those days.

We all miss those glory days of the 80's Pub Rock scene.
Could've been poor management or personality clashes within the Band that put a halt to O/Seas success.
Why did they get a new Singer for the 2nd album?
I don't know anything about the "Behind the Scenes" of the Band BOYS.
All I know is that I really like both albums.
I bought a CD a while ago that has both albums on one disc.
    Very cool Band.

Just last week I entered an internet-induced musical rabbit hole that luckily led me to the British band called The Boys (love 'em) which led me to the Aussie band called Boys (really love 'em). While I had previously heard of the Brit Boys, I had never ran across any reference to these Boys from Perth. Why have I been denied this great music all these many years? Thank you for the opportunity to hear the entire album.

Thanks for posting this so we can hear again how good these boys were.

I know and can sing perfectly in unison every lyric and that for me is a great day. Bring back real rock.

Reckon I've listened to this 30 times in the last fortnight since Cam put up a couple of fb acoustics, love his Leave it all behind. Lino sold me my first amp, Kosmic Bentley lateish 80s. I heard Cam playing 'be-bop' scales in the amp room and it just blew my mind. Rest peacefully Lino and Brent, so very grateful you guys left this legacy for us to enjoy 40 years later, thanks Jim

I remember seeing these guys at Blazes just north of Perth CBD in the late 70's. What great nights those were. From memory 2 of these guys became part of Baby Animals. Again, found these guys from a nostalgia search ... along with Electric Pandas and Saracen / Trilogy.

I've only learned very recently that Lino and Brent and songwriter Paul have passed away.
They were involved in producing some of the best Rock Music.
    Brilliantly crafted Rock songs.
The vocals and overall production are superb.
I checked their Chart history and quite a few of their songs made the upper reaches of the Top 100.
This was thanks to Molly and Countdown on the ABC tv.
BOYS would've been more successful if major commercial radio had given them airplay.
MMM radio are culprits by not playing BOYS.

@@alanstrom2221Nobody seems to know why the original singer left, I heard that he had a car accident, don't know if he died, or just crippled, so many other stories. But I did hear that Molly tried it on him after their second appearance on countdown and they went straight home. So I guess that's why they didn't make it, not willing to play the game, like so many who didn't make it.
