      AJ Lynch Happened to me once. I am also a Judge and I convinced the head judge he was wrong. My oppo was cheating hard using metaverse and chained his own solemn judgment to metaverse as CL2. The problem was oppo activated those cards just because he was locked out and activated Metaverse without any valid target into the deck. Judge said you need proof, I said check his deck for targets, judge said I cant and called the head judge which at the start also said I will not check for it without any proof. But I said just check his hand, he had 2 Mystic Mine to GY and 10 cards left into the deck, just check his hand. Oppo got banned from events for cheating.

      I won that full set, but i gave him that game just to be fair (even though most players here arent very fair about anything)

    I have a ruling question between Lost world and Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star. If I have Lost World on the field and my opponent has Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star, when I attack the token, who gets to protect the token first? I thought I would because I'm the turn player, but my locals has ruled that my opponent gets to protect it. Can someone confirm who gets to protect it first? When playing in reality is different than what if you play on game simulator...

    • @nerfirelia8235
      @nerfirelia8235 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are actually some things that the automatic online simulator does differently. There is this weird ruling about graveyard effects that are actually ruled differently for the TCG and OCG. Most simulators use the OCG rulings. As an example, if you use Oviraptor to destroy a Baby and then summon that same Baby back to your field you will get the destruction effect to summon a monster in the OCG, but in the TCG you will not. Simulators use the OCG ruling so in this case you would be able to summon a monster, but if you went to a tournament in the TCG you wouldn't be able to. Simulators are usually pretty consistent, but sometimes there are small things like that example that you need to watch out for.

      The games themselves are not really different from your locals, you will probably have a wider variety or decks to play against but other than that the games don't really differ. There are always judges at big events so don't hesitate to call them when something is unclear or you are unsure of a ruling. What differs is everything else: Watch your stuff and only take the thing you really need with you, for me that's deck, decklist, playmat, pen and paper, dice and some snacks and drinks, depending on how much time I have a trade binder as well. For large events like a YCS I usually take a powerbank with me as well. All in all I would say just think about what items you need when you go on a trip for a day and take those with you.

    At the KC regional I faced a Shaddoll player in round 3, he had told me my previous turn when I'd summoned my Guan Yun and popped one of his monsters that his Caliga stopped me from activating monster effects. On his turn he then attempted 4 or 5 SEGOC effects, I told him he couldn't do so per his own Caliga (who allows one attempt of a monster effect activation, no more, per turn). He tried to claim he could do so, upon calling both a standard judge, who rules in my favor, and then my opponent declares he's contesting the ruling, the head judge comes to the room we were in (they had too many people for the main room alone) and he also rules in my favor. I was doing all of this with no sleep had on the way to the event, since I cannot drive due to a physical disability caused by a genetic condition, and it's a 7 hour drive from the Twin Cities to KCK. Unfortunately my opponent couldn't leave the match at the table as we went to get lunch the following round and he was expressing his distaste aloud, causing friends/acquaintances of mine to ask me what I did to him thankfully we all had a good laugh about it

    I understand the opponent not knowing those rules but the player with the deck not knowing is weird... if you are going to play a deck you should know every stupid and obscure rullling that affects it...

      It happens even to the best of them. Not everyone knows or the know the wrong concept.

    All these miss reads and misplays are cause koonami are idiots in there mass card text and put these hard to read cards and confusing combos and unless you literally study the game like a college class then you want know what's going on. Lol shame yugioh gx didn't have class on this. It would of been a great episode. I wont deny it ive miss read cards or missplayed cause of confusing rulings. Yugioh is a shit storm of being unorganized and should keep things simple. I'm not gonna play competitively cause of how confusing the game is. I've spent matches looking things up cause of the wording or interaction.

    I still don't understand how any of these are rulings honestly. It's just you simply reading and understanding card text. If someone can't read and understand card texts, what makes you think they'll understand these "Rulings". Great video though!

    Happened to me once opponent was tryin to cheat; I am also a Judge and I convinced the head judge he was wrong. My oppo was cheating hard using metaverse CL1 and chained his own solemn judgment to metaverse as CL2. The problem was oppo activated those cards just because he was locked out (no zones for win condition cards) and activated Metaverse without any valid target into the deck. Judge said to me you need proof, I said check his deck for targets, judge said I can't and called the head judge which at the start also said I will not check for it without any proof. But I said just check his hand, he had 2 Mystic Mine to GY and 10 cards left into the deck, just check his hand. Oppo got banned from events for cheating. His last Field spell was into his hand... ;) fucking cheaters

      mostly its enough for a judge to check his hand, grave, bannish including facedown and list + side deck
      i mean then with process of elimination you can get what is in the deck left
