    I heard this sermon about 10yrs ago...changed my life... I'll still come back every few years listen to it. Among many things that stands out to me, that part that sticks with me is "There ought to be a difference in God's people and the World"! So true.

    I am so glad to hear a preacher who is not afraid of the popular or the faces of those who hear him. He fears God and God alone. I totally agree. My grandfather was an alcoholic and that compulsive gene has been passed down in many ways. Thank you Pastor Jentezen!

    Wine has the potential to intoxicate if left unchecked in its consumption. I still subscribe to the truths unfolding in his message. I strongly think that wine should be avoided at all costs lest one falls.

    Yes I am. Trying to find material to post is hard. I started doing this years ago and now there's a lot more people doing it. So, when I get material it's usually already uploaded. I'm glad I have some help out there now. God bless!

    I completely disagree. I do believe that if it's a stumbling block to others you don't do it around them. I don't think it should be a common thing. A glass of wine here and there while out to dinner with my spouse is NOT harmful. If it becomes a problem and I turn to alcohol to bury them then I have a problem.

      Which I believe is his strongest point here. Why even mess with it at all when you see it destroying thousands of lives every day? I'm sure every alcoholic once thought they could control their intake at one time, and they probably did for a while. While the Bible doesn't say it's a sin to drink, it does strongly say that it shouldn't be messed with.

      Same with anything. I've had my family destroyed by gambling, shopping, smoking, gluttony,etc. If something is a weakness to you, STAY away. The fact is, grape juice wasnt invented till the mid 1800's. Wine was in passovers and it was part of his first miracle. It certainly can become a personal conviction but don't teach it as a biblical truth for everyone. (One who does is teaching false doctrine)

    • @sermons4u
      @sermons4u  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Firstly, you can't invent grape juice because it already existed. lol. I think you're referring to when Welch invented a pasteurizing method to prevent grape juice from fermenting so quickly in 1869.
      Secondly, it is a biblical truth. There is warning after warning over alcohol. Yes, you're correct in that there are many different things that can become strongholds, like gambling (which is clearly stated as a sin in the Bible). You can either try to justify your choices or heed the warnings, that's up to you, me and everyone else. I still think you are overlooking the point he was making and I'll explain it again. You don't know at the start whether something will take over your life and destroy it, you find that out when it is too late. It happens gradually and countless people's lives are destroyed every day.

      Like I said before, anything done in excess is harmful. If you feel something is getting out of control for you, let it go. It's not a moral sin and cannot be preached as a sin.

      Lady, he stated in this very sermon that it's not a sin. He states over and over that it's his views and explains why. And you still missed the point completely.
