I think so too, a comparison in my opinion: if Deku was kinda like a Superman, Koichi (vigilantes MC) is more of a Spider-Man. “smaller scale” hero, really start from bottom and develop his quirk to become top tier. Despite failing UA entrance exams, he doesn’t give up on heroism and tries to helps people even with mundane small things.

Honestly I prefer Vigilantes over the main series. It's more focused in its storytelling and its conclusion is pretty satisfying. The one thing I don't like is that it's worse about female character designs than Horikoshi is. Like, that girl is in highschool *please* let her wear pants or shorts or something other than whatever that is.
That's becuase JUMP Festa is going right now, we got PVs and announcements for Hell's paradise, JJK season 3, spy x family season 3, witch watch, blue exorcist new arc, and this one
Perhaps MHA Vigilantes will possibly last 3 seasons since manga has last 126 chapters with 9 arcs but every chapter has 19-21 pages long but the first arc with 8 chapters has 30 pages longer
God FINALLY I love this spin off, I love that they give relevance to characters like Aizawa and Midnight, the latter is undoubtedly one of the most wasted in the main work, I already want them to animate it and finally bring Koichi. 👍

And he actually become better fighter through learning and adapting. Sure he have power ups, but that's not giving him "advantage"
Deku was chosen because of his works and drive, they are both terrific representations of that sentiment.

I feel like the moral of the story in this one will make more sense than the main storyline.
