The fact that his boss is not in the courtroom , says a lot .
Instead of the actual culprit having the courage to go to court himself he sent poor Sean.
That’s how it works. People agree to take responsibility in exchange for monetary gains.
I feel sorry for this defendant-in-name-only. He did nothing wrong, but his boss threw him under the proverbial bus, likely, in part, because he didn't dare face the plaintiff in court.
i dont believe it was lost or stolen, they realized it was worth more
@@AbadScratchingHabit i dont believe its it was lost, they noticed it was worth more,
Yeah it's time to find new employment.
His boss is deceptive and cowardly. If he thinks the customers r his only victims, he'll learn otherwise soon enough
Defendant-in-name-only did do somethingn wrong, obviously the ring wasn't worth $2500 yet he lied as instructed to make the case go away
both of the litigants are dressed very beautifully/handsomely 😊😄
I agree, I Love her pink outfit, she looks great in it. And as for Shawn, very handsome, knowledgeable, confident, and dressed great…hope he has his own jewelry store by now!
I always notice that too 😊. I hate it when girls go like they’re going to a club, or when people wear ripped jeans. You can wear all that on your own time. Court is business attire. They both look very nice. I feel bad for the young man a little, but clearly his mentor is crooked so if he follows in his footsteps after this it’s on him!
She had on an expensive suit. You can tell she likes nice things.
Somebody stole that original ring 👀
Something tells me it’s the same person who gave her the worthless ring to replace the original..
That guy seems like a real good guy just trying to walk that narrow line. Hope he's OK after this
@dollarperlike4087 we all need employment and getting fired is not good for anyone, let alone getting fired from a store that used to be owned by his parents
@dollarperlike4087 grown men have feelings to. This could definitely fuck with him especially with it being publicized like this and with his name being dragged for his boss
He didn’t have to go tho I think he sign the papers to go,, he def innocent
@@quadruplequadtriplenose6163 "grown men have feelings to." Not according to a lot of vocal women on social media, we don't.
Aunty came in her Sundays best! IKDR!! Left that court RIGHT to the altar. Hope Sean keeps his job. What a decent young man.
but he lied about the fake ring being worth $3000 (other appraiser already said $200, you will believe self-appraiser or 3rd-party)
When the plaintiff said she didn't have the appraisal from the other jeweler I thought she was going to lose. But when the "color enhanced" BS came out.....that did it for the defendant. New jewelry store owner is super shady. Poor Sean!
Sean - the defendant - was put in a bad spot. I think he did the best he could under the circumstances not having been there to handle the original transaction. That aside, he's a well-dressed, handsome man. Good call, judge. ❤
Yea agreed his back was against the wall, but as the judge said he was nothing but honest
He's very talented I hope he starts his own business and stays away from them !!
@@AdamLuiTubein all fairness, he made that comment before he looked at. I imagine once he saw it, that valuation would have changed.
He's so cute and handled himself so professionally.
The boss not being there, but sending poor sean instead speaks volumes. It screams I'm too much of a coward to face the woman I stole from
The Plaintiff is a smart lady by getting that ring appraised at another jeweler right away. I agree that any jeweler is going to downgrade to pull in her business from the scammer(owner) of the store, but they were correct in their appraisal that it was not of equal value to the stone that was lost(stolen) by the the repair shop.
The defendant(owner) should've been filing a lawsuit against the repair shop, instead of sticking it to the Plaintiff.
The defendant(representative) is a good man & I hope he finds a better employment situation. He's definitely not getting paid enough to litigate for a dishonest(coward) employer.
She was trusting of his family when they owned the store. But when the new owners...lost...her ring, she was not going to trust them just on their word. And she was right. The new ring was not equal value to her original ring. They lost a good customer and by word of mouth other customers who don't want to be scammed. That young man needs to find another job in jewelry at a reputable store. Now that he knows what they do.
"There is a lot on Shawn's plate!" 🤣
She deserves her lawsuit and punitive damages bcuz this owner was definitely purposely deceptive and lets be for real they STOLE HER ORIGINAL RING AND DIAMOND 😒😒😒
I thought the same exact thing.. that’s why he didn’t want to face her
@@lexislove639 I wonder if she ever thought that in her own mind. Too bad she wasn’t able to prove it.
@@sonyahall5080 i would have at least mentioned it to the judge to attempt to secure punitive damages for sure
They lost because they gave her a diamond with “enhanced clarity” which was on the receipt but the one she gave them was natural without enhancements. 👏🏾👏🏾
@@cookied6153It takes a quick Google search. It’s “enhanced clarity” or “clarity enhanced” which devalues the quality.
His boss didn’t lose that diamond, he switched it with his wife’s “diamond”, and was hoping she was too stupid to get it appraised. That boss has that diamond, that’s why he didn’t want to show his lying face on tv.
Dang poor Shawn. He should look into another job because his boss shady asf. Then delegated him to go fall on his sword smh
but he got paid to show up, so was willing to accept some of the fraudulent profits
@@AdamLuiTube that doesn’t reflect his character because he was honest the entire time
Sean is a good guy !!
It’s the BOSS you have to watch !!!
Somebody stole that lady's ring
I like the Defendant, I hope he can break away from that shady owner and open his own Jewelry store!😊
Has anyone else noticed that Doug only shakes some people's hands? Other people he pretends he doesn't have a hand to shake 😂😂 I love shady Doug!
@@kieteroI'm so glad he came back I barely remember the other dude 😂
Poor Sean, the owner should have been there!
Sean was looking nice in that 3 piece suit.
I can't get over Judge M WEARING the rings in order to look at them
...as if that's normal in a court proceeding lol ... Judge M loves standing in her defendants shoes
The new store owner, has shown his true colors.... I would not do business with that store... he tried to pull one over on the client. He counted on the client's ignorance of diamonds.
The boss isn’t there because he has no balls!
The new owner has insurance & due to them loosing the ring they could have paid her via an insurance claim for way more than 2900
They did NOT lose that ring ‼️
The plaintiff needs to learn to shut her mouth when she's winning, because I think she was two seconds from losing her case (if she said she knew what quality enhanced meant).
$3500 diamond... DOUBTFUL. I want to see an appraisal.
In the future, people need to get agreements that say, "Client has x days to get replacement diamond / stone appraised." They should also ask for information on the stone in writing. I find it HIGHLY suspicious that her replacement stone was from another ring. This so-called jewler sounds like someone the police need to keep an eye on.
Winning is good, but being compensated for dishonesty is justice. The plaintiff should have received at least 1,000 for fraud. The defendant already knew he was the scapegoat for the company.
Sean is so cute 😍 also the plaintiff does not play about her jewelry! I get it !
"CLARITY ENHANCED" GLASS.
That black man just trying keep his job 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Too bad they sold the family business to work for someone else who seems to be tarnishing their good name.
They kept or sold the stone they need to pay her the money for her ring..
Wtg on the defendant jeweller for being so upfront and honest.
but he lied about the fake ring was worth $3000 instead of $200 other jewelers who didn't self-appraise said...
Dang his boss made him go handle something HE was responsible for! Says a lot about what kind of person he is. Hope the defendant didn't get into any kind of trouble for speaking the truth or losing the case.
Unbelievable!
Jeweler ? I hardly knew her.
He’s an honest defendant, and he also seems like he doesn’t wanna be defending cuz he also believes she’s in the right. Such a sad situation.
I've raraely seen people look as effortlessy put together and clean as the plaintiff
Did they even tell her that the diamond was cracked and needed to be recut? Or that it was just going to be reset by fixing the broken prongs? Diamonds don't crack by just falling out of the setting when a prong breaks. This new jewelry is shady.
i fw sean ! you can tell he’s polite and feels bad about the situation but his hands were tied
but he lied about the fake ring being $3000 instead of $200 like the professionals who didn't self-appraise said....
@@AdamLuiTube like judge millian said, any jeweler will not accurately appraise a piece of jewelry that isn’t theirs. they will down grade it everytime because they want you to buy from them instead. i highly doubt the ring was only worth 200. and sean gave a range he said about 2500-3000. how accurate that is, idk i didn’t see the ring but of course they will be on the higher end of appraisal because it’s their ring. i don’t think he intended to be dishonest because like judge millian said, he was honest the whole time.
@@liyahliyahxo ok you go believe the words of a judge instead of use common sense to determine someone paid by uncle to win the case has the sole purpose of inflating the ring's value, which obviously cannot be comparable if it had carbon injected and looked the same as both litigants admitted
maybe I missed it, but how did the judge determine $2900...diamonds don't usually depreciate
Smfh how the hell they lose her ring!!!!!! I'd sue them in BIG COURT! She acted like she didn't care about the ring tho, just that they lied to her 🙁
Stones almost NEVER fall out of rings. When JMM said, so the stone fell out, she says NO. The answer was YES.
J-E-W-E-L-R-Y.... not "jury"🙄
Ugh, get over yourself. You knew what she meant. As someone that works with all types of people, it’s easy to understand that not everyone pronounces words the same way. It’s not the end of the world.
@shaani7978 it's annoying...just like when people say "I seen" or try to use big words but use them incorrectly, or get the word wrong altogether
@lizs5709
Ok, perfect one! 😂😂😂
It's so much more going on in this world !
We all have something that annoys us; especially TH-cam University English professors😂😂😂😂😂😂
I agree. The guy had been nothing but honest the entire time. Even to the detriment to his case. I think the owner was a coward not to show up himself.
Her outfit was cute and Shawn seems like a nice young man.
They tried to pull a fast one on her and ended up losing a loyal customer
Excellent judgement my husband is an GIA TRAINED JEWELER . KUDOS TO THE PLAINTIFF
Love how posh the litigants are looking 👌 I wish everyone would dress this way in everyday life, class 💎
At least he’s honest too bad his family doesn’t own it anymore
Why on Earth would she NOT bring proof?
SHE NEVER PROVED the ring was worth $2900. The problem she still has is that SHE HAS NO APPRAISAL of her original diamond. In real life she would have probably LOST.
'Tiffany' rings aren't just referring to the gold band part, but it is a guarantee that the diamond is also a 'Tiffany' diamond, so it is registered and authenticated. If the defendant's boss switched the 'Tiffany' diamond for a cheap low quality diamond, that is called FRAUD. But why was she only awarded $2900 when her ring had been valued at $3500. Quality jewellery doesn't devalue, the judge was just being cheap...
This is a classic case of new owners of a business purging their client list. Sometimes it's expensive but it's common practice. Regular customers get shafted because the new owners have a different set of clients they want to bring in / their own clients they want to bring over. In other words, they set this kid up and he probably got canned for failing. Such a sad situation for him and awkward. He could only say "yea we screwed her..." Poor kid you could tell he did NOT wanna be there!
The boss is a coward ! That’s it
Just looking at the way this lady is dressed and presented…. Sad they tried her
They gave her an UGLY ring but that's NOT $2000.
I feal for Sean he was put in a BS position. Shame on the owner 😕
Poor guy. He knows they did her wrong so he's just eating it but he could have cleaned his fingernails....eek
On another note Douglas looking real fine today in that crispy white button up😍😍 mymymy
such a terribly unfair, inequitable America, huh?
Sean should get a raise!
The company he works for did him wrong for sending him to court. They shouldn’t be allowed to do that. Especially if he didn’t have any dealings with the plaintiff.
Should not be allowed to keep the company name anonymous! In real court it's public record.
Shawn is FIONE🤗.
Whewww you can tell the defendant doesn’t wanna be there .
Pain and suffering PUH-lease 😂
She brought in a BROKEN diamond
Defendant's fingernails are so dirty.
How was the ring stolen Smh your guilty Shawn. The plaintiff need to get all her jewelry checked. And yes judge his boss thought she was stupid
Someone pushed this poor kid under the bus...I think they thought the judge or plaintiff would take pity on him. That's just mean.
Sounds like a pawn show and plantiff cant pay the 90 bucks to have it appraised? You get what you can pay for I guess?
Diamond cut CZ.
Hope she got her jooree situation figured out.
This person who took her ring is a ripoff they did her wrong. I hope she gets her money back.
His nails though 🥴👀 Sean a manicure after this show
I never owned jewry like that...for real
Only suckers pay for diamonds. They are WORTHLESS.
Yep. I worked for a family business, jewellery, and you are 100% correct. Emeralds and rubies, that's where the money is. Opals are getting more rare as well. Diamonds weren't even a thing until Queen Victoria, who also popularized the white wedding dress. DeBoers picked up the ball and ran with it ... the most successful ad campaign EVER, and still.
The defendant was so cute and petite lol
Then it needs to go get a job with an honest business. I couldn’t keep looking for a place that would treat customers like that.
He walked in defeated😂🫤
She from the ville I bet you 😂😂 now rule!!!
That defendant is so nice. Hopefully no hard feelings. 😄
Never get your jewelry fixed without getting it appraised. 😮 This happened to me.. please take pictures of the person you give it to and take pictures of the diamond.. never leave the premises and watch them reset the diamond in person.. 😢I’m heartbroken for her..
I dont haven't enough money for the clarity enhanced ring 🤯
Love her suit
2:17 The PenMENT.
Whoever made that ring counted on her never getting it checked out by anyone else and they were wrong. Glad for her.
Ms Carter said no ma'am I only where real diamonds
Exactly. And her stone couldve been really valuable , thus it being "lost"😢
When people need money, they have zirconia, and it is sold on the cheap. The person who gave her the zirconia ring knew it was just plastic to get her out of the store. And they the owners sent someone instead who knew nothing about the fake ring.
@@trekgirl65 The plaintiff wasn't given a cubic zirconia ring. She was given a "clarity enhanced" diamond. Cubic zirconia is obviously fake and therefore, isn't the same as a real diamond. A "clarity enhanced" diamond on the other hand, is a real diamond that's had carbon injected into it in order to remove some of the inclusions. Sean clearly explained all of that during his testimony. The ring given to the plaintiff wasn't fake. It was simply a lower quality diamond of lesser value than her original diamond. You can find out more information about quality enhanced diamonds online. But like I said, they're real diamonds and are NOT the same as cubic zirconia which is fake.
