Some of those people may be transit passengers; however, December isn’t really the time of year to visit Iceland. Wait until spring. (Sorry, Icelandic travel industry 😊)
Yes, we get snow often but this was a lot in a short time with very strong winds so it was an unusual situation That said, authorities here are going over this to make sure the response is better next time.
Horrible cramped airport, especially the "A" concourse (nowhere to sit down). Not worth the stress, even during normal operations. Go nonstop across the Atlantic if at all possible.
Corruptions in Iceland is too blame, because people are appointed, who should not be there in first place. Result is bad organization in the government and bad decisions making
Well, ppl book vacation travel long before, it is not an Uber ride. I was in Iceland few weeks ago which I booked like more than a month ahead... Being a tourist country and all, Iceland should be better prepared to a degree in case of emergency. It may not be a big deal if it is an overnight thing but if govt can't do the small things, how much can you expect from them when there is a real emergency.
The place isn’t called Iceland for no reason.
It’s an act of nature, you’ll survive for a while. buddy.
Dude could cut back on the hot dogs anyway……
