      It is possible that the box is faulty on its own. If you have a power meter, pls test out the power supply that it can actually supply 1A. Many fake ones fail really short of this so the box might not be able to start if it does not have enough current.

    • @TasteTheCode
      @TasteTheCode  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Replace the capacitor on the output. A broken capacitor often fails to bootstrap the circuit.

    I have seen bulging capacitors so many time!!! Good safety tips by taping the mains. Suggestion use a heat shrink tube over the hot glue also.

    • @TasteTheCode
      @TasteTheCode  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to isolate if the issue is the power adapter or if the issue is inside the Android box. Make sure to only try the box with an adapter for the same voltage.

    Are there any polarity on the two diods tha you connected to aligator clip

    • @TasteTheCode
      @TasteTheCode  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, you can connect them as you wish since this is the AC input from the mains. BTW, they are not diodes but the pins that connect to the plug pins on the case.

  • @Randombourg
    @Randombourg หลายเดือนก่อน

    You could have just powered the device with a basic 5v usb A cable?

    • @TasteTheCode
      @TasteTheCode  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You'll need to modify the cable to match the plug and also to provide enough current for the tv box.

    Which one is negative and positive on the device like the inside is negative right and the outer side it’s positive right

    • @TasteTheCode
      @TasteTheCode  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope it is the other way around. At least in my case and in about 95% of power supplies I've seen, positive is in the middle and negative on the outside. Check the device label, it should be marked.

    hello sir my mxq android tv box damage due to inserting 12v adapter
    instead of 5v adapter, i take it to repair shop but they said need to
    replace main ic, i want to know which component will be damage most of
    the time if we connect any high voltage adapter to android tv box or any
    electronic equipment. i have little knowledge about electronic
    soldering and i own one cheap multi meter tester.

    • @TasteTheCode
      @TasteTheCode  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It all depends on the type of circuitry but it is possible that the main IC is gone if there is no extra protection inside. In an event that there is some extra protection inside like a regulator, fuse, or similar, that might be broken but it is impossible to know without looking at the board.

    In the charger point which is positive and which is negative?..outside one and inside one

    • @TasteTheCode
      @TasteTheCode  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The jack is center positive. This is true for more than 90% of the chargers I've seen.

    • @TasteTheCode

      Sounds like it is. Higher voltage almost certainly damages components. Do you have some electronics knowledge to try and inspect it? If not I'll recommend that you take it to a repair shop.

    Hey dude a question please.I have bricked my tv box (x88 king) and finally after unbricking it,HDMI output doesnt work (no signal on tv) I noticed most times power supply creates a spark when connecred to socket.Box boots fine though (tested with AV output) Electrician told me that he couldnt find any HDMI damage.Is it possible HDMI no signal problem to be from partially broken power supply?

    • @TasteTheCode
      @TasteTheCode  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure but I don't think so. If it was partially working out not booting at all, then it might have been the power supply. The spark is commonly caused by the input capacitors charging to fast.
