    Nice idea, it would be nice if cable manufacturers made the drums bigger, instead of them being just the right size to hold a certain amount of cable, but obviously using such an expensive and rare material as cardboard what else can we expect.

      @MatSmithLondon 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      haha quite. Think I might be 3D printing some kind of circular bracket thing to go around my cable reels to help keep the cable on. So annoying.

    I have the 300 as it supports decent size drum of ev ultra etc, I did make something like it as an apprentice over a decade ago as it made more sense to stack drums than have them side by side blocking walk ways etc. So when this popped up it was a no brainer, great for running through floors or pulling in for down lights, can't fault it.

    It does look good for certain things. I'd like to see how well 5 drums of 8core alarm cable stack up and stay up on that thing. Think I'll stick to the traditional when pulling in bulk on site.

    I use the yellow thing. I would *LOVE* to upgrade to that device (for the very reason you demonstrated) but cannot possibly justify the cost. Only doing a self build (hugely over the top spec of cabling (12 zones of audio, 40 light circuits centrally wired, new 13A rings from scratch etc plus about 100 CAT6 runs) BUT I think this thing is priced for those people doing it day-in-day-out. Also sometimes need to run 3 or 4 at a time - nope - not spending £500 on equipment just to help me run cables!

    Looks good and solves the issue of the cable snagging. My only concern is £100 for the small one, will it last years like my traditional cable reel. If it does id defo buy one but usually if its too good to be true it usually is.

    I still think it's amazing how much weight bearings can take, due to their size. I recon there using cheap and cheerful roller skate bearings.
    Quick question. Can you take it apart and change the bearing if they get damaged? Do you recon it'd be possible to take one (or both) apart, just to see what they use bearing wise?
    I'm pretty sure you could sacrifice one with all the view you get 😉

    How well does it work if being pulled from above? Say pulling in cables above suspended ceilings with the drum on the floor?

    • @darylsavage119
      @darylsavage119 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is what I want to know. If it truly was better at this than my current rack-a-teirs I may consider it, as my work is mostly commercial and this would be easier carried and no bars sticking out for people to get snagged on

      If you put that X-board directly under you it won't work. I usually have it like 3-5 meters away and I can easily pull the cables above the ceilings up to 4,5 metres high.

    looks great, it should be great for what it costs. would be nice if the manufacturers did a special every now and again that would make them more affordable / less of a risk to take a punt on.
    Summat else to try out / haggle with manufacturers to bring the price down a bit. . . is the Super Rod SRFD Flexi Drill Kit that's on amazon just now. I'd want to know that was worth the money before throwing anything more than 50 quid at it.

    Why is it called a "rumpo stick"? I would’ve called it a "Drum Stick" personally, as that'd make a lot more sense.
    Quick question. Has it got the same thread as the cane's? As that'd make things a lot easier and one less thing to stick in the van

    • @efixx
      @efixx  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    How does that equal over £200 worth?
