They really knew how to do credits in the 70s. I can't really explain why, but they always have this wonderful feeling of the close of a story that may yet lead to other adventures. The use of sunsets, spirited folk tunes, it just all comes together in a perfect sublime way.
BDNeon Agree, I think the upbeat composition followed by the optimistic, yet colorful backgrounds are some visuals we barely see in today’s animated films. It also gives me that nostalgic feeling which a big plus in my book.

In the 2015 computer animated Peanuts Movie, there is a moving fan that says "Mendelson and Melendez" on the side. When I saw that I knew it was referencing (and obviously honoring) Lee Mendelson and Bill Melendez.
I remember watching this movie all the time on my Dad's Betamaz. I loved it then. But being an adult now, I find it rather disturbing. The kids who openly cheated and placed Charlie and the others in physical danger, the girls kicking them out of the cabin to freeze to death outside, Peppermint Patty being a total beyotch, etc.
Jason Ryan I like how throughout the film he doesn’t take any of Peppermint Patty’s bull and stands up for himself and they would have won the race if it wasn’t for Patty and the other girls ruining it for them.
@James Moyner I don't know WHO was the WORST: Peppermint Patty or Lucy. Peppermint Patty berated CB for situations that he had NOTHING to do with with Lucy just piggybacking off of her every word. Patty & the girls not only pushed the boys out of the cabin (and THEY found it first) but my favorite part is when CB got fed up and put Patty in her place after she went to bitching about being fed cold cereal (the 2nd time), similar to how she acted in "Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" after she invited HERSELF (and Marcie & Franklin) to HIS house

But I've always felt sorry that he never again, for the entire rest of his career, had any chances to go crazy the way he did in Bob Clampett's WB unit. There were simply no opportunities anywhere for that. It's a shame that his unique talents never really found another home (or a budget able to accommodate them, either). Wish I could know what scenes were his.

I hated when the bus leaves Charlie Brown behind, but I'm glad Snoopy and Woodstock gave Charlie Brown a ride.
