Thank you, sir, I took the driver's side front off for the same reason. It's sitting on my work bench waiting for me to tear into it. I think you saved me a lot of money!
We need more Wayne's in this world! If I lived in Northern Florida, there is no doubt who would be working on our RV's.... Great video and well explained step by step in your troubleshooting. Thank you.
Wayne....we are extremely pleased with the leveler work you did on our Class A. Thanks again for the fantastic work you do.....we are so glad we ran into you in the dealership that day.....!!!
Great video. You are an excellent mechanic. You are doing a great service for your customers. I had some warranty work done to my rig the other day. I won't mention the dealerships name online. I would imagine that they're all the same. Their labor rates are $150 per hour and currently it would be August before you could schedule an appointment. I am glad that I also learned mechanic work from my father. It has saved me thousands of dollars over the years. Have a great weekend and love the channel. Knowledge is power.
Great work Wayne, my RV has a BigFoot leveling system. I have never had any issues with it. I still hope you work on one some day and video it. As we all know, without you the only way we have to know what is inside sealed systems like levelers is for us to take them apart. I just can't make myself fix something that is not broken. Than you again and its great to have you back. See ya down the Road Daniel R. Fort Worth Texas
Good job, if he was to take it to an “RV store” they would have just replaced it with the same junk, not many shops actually “fix” anything anymore, thanks for being there.
I'm speechless. Truly amazing work, Wayne. I get tired of saying how impressed I am at your willingness to open sh*t up and find the problem, and most times, find a better, more practical way to fix it than the "professional" engineers. lol. It's almost as if - no matter the project, whether you have done work on it before or not, you are never afraid to dig in and investigate, and it's REALLY fun to watch. :) Nice work buddy.
Nomadic Fanatic l agree found Wayne through u and thank you. ...he worked on are RV and what amazing work he does...The RV whisper. ,.l call him...Wayne is just not a amazing mechanic but a wonderful man..
Eric.....I want to thank you too for giving Wayne the shout out for his great work. This is our Class A and we could not be happier with the work Wayne has done for us. Since this video he has also installed Sumo Springs and they are FANTASTIC.....!! Love your videos, Eric.....Keep them coming....!! :)
I tried to order a jack assembly by Atwood . Was told by Fleetwood , dometic, and Lippert you can’t buy jacks or parts. Best bet change to hydraulic system.?
Wayne, you da' man! Great video, and, congrats on the fix! I know you BOTH are happy it's fixed. Sad, but, typical 'junk' they sell us on an everyday schedule. Work safely, stay happy, and, God Bless! (6/16/2018 Saturday 6:46amCST Houston, Texas)
I am adding my experience to this. You can no longer get parts for this system. I tried Oct.2020 .Atwood was sold to Dometic which sold to Lippincott Inc. My gears, the 2 matched 15 teeth gears from the motor to the screw jack busted in half. They want you to buy a whole new system. They do not support any parts needed saying it was a bad design. What I did was order two stock 15 tooth spur gears from Martin Gear Manufacturing, which were thicker and had a 1 inch hub and stock 3/4 inch bore. I went to a tool and die shop had the hub milled down and the gear milled down from .750 to .680 my size and sleeved the bore for 5/8 inch and then he notched it for the pin that goes thru shaft that the gear sets on. $70 dollars for 2 gears and $50 dollars to Tool and Die shop. Beats the hell out of replacing the whole system. I dont know how to do youtube videos ,but hope some one reads this and it helps them.
dnnsmrgn can you provide Matin Gear Manufacturing address I am finding lots of location and would like to use the same location you had such success with. Thanks
Great job. A new one plus labor would be well over $1000.00 . Crazy how dealerships treat us after we buy from them. Would a hydraulic system work better than the electric one.?
Excellent job Wayne. You've got great ingenuity. You and I know why the factory didn't use a bushing with a collar (7:30), it might have added $0.50 to the cost of the RV and produced a better quality RV. In the long run this might have cut down on repairs done at dealer repair shops.
wish you could fix a HWH 110 system, as mine has broken after a faulty jack line. i replaced hose but now system wont charge. following you as you sure make repairs look easy
grate video if its made here in usa we be came no pride in what we do just give me a pay check i see it in all most all things we make . look at all the things we make and how long do they last cheap parts on top of all that.. thanks Wayne for fixing it right.. saving him $$$ you take pride in what you do..
Hey Wayne, seems Atwood has a bit of a design problem.. love the brass bushing with the collar, I would just be a little concerned because brass is a much softer metal the steel washer, is it going to hold when they hit the end "over extended".. again you suprised me with you broad knowladge of rv components, once again nice job..
Can you supply a part number of the bushing you purchased at Tractor Supply? I have the exact same leveler doing the exact same thing. Thanks in advance
I have the exact same system & what is happening is the left front jack whines & grinds when I operate the system. Is it worth me pulling it apart to see what is going on., This prob was intermittent for this summer but now it is permanant issue. While the other 3 jacks work fine this one runs for about 5 secs with a god awful noise & then throws the system into alarm. Jack at this point neither goes up or down. Can you help? Where do you live, I'll bring my rig to you
Great video,! I've had my jacks apart many times. I now have a major issue with the air dump. Re guard less of turning on the control pad, as soon as you turn the coach on it drops air. No one can help me. Many phone calls to Atwood I'm getting error code on the dr rear jack. ? ?? All the jack run well in manual mode. Where do I go ???????
Glad to see you are still kicking bro Question fer ya. Solar install on my 34s bounder. I have 4-t105 Trojans 6v and a victron mppt smart charge controller 75-15 and 2-100 watt Renegy mono panels feeding and 2200 watt cobra marine inverter. What size Fuse would you recommend for that setup and do you have the part number for the shunt you used in a previous video? I'm using 1/0 welding cable for the battery bank and to the inverter #8 from good to charge controller, Thanks brotha !!
The fuse should be ANL-250 and you can get it in the following link.amzn.to/2ypHFai Dont forget the fuse holder as well. The battery monitor I used was a TriMetric TN-2030 RV You cane get it here amzn.to/2JXpSZ1 And the shunt can be found here amzn.to/2taasto
Hey Wayne I have been watching for a while and enjoy your how to videos. I also do most of the work on my motorhome. I have a question a friend has the same leveling system and could use a gear set. Any idea where to find them. It seams Lipert has been buying everyone out that makes parts for campers. We can't find anything on these levelegs.

My Attwood Leveling system does not actually level anymore. I have to manually adjust to get it to somewhat normal position. How do I "reset" this so when I do level out, its close to being level. Thanks

It would of solved them from having warranty work and costing them more in the long run.
You're the Perry Mason of RV repair.

Leveling systems can be a real PITA. Try to call the manufacture and see what steps need to be done to prime the system.

Hey Wayne, by chance would you repair an Atwood leveler, model 66070, if I mailed it to you?. Thanks, Rob
Nice fix!!
Bloody Good Work My Friend :-)

No clue where to get them

Good job buddy
Does anyone know how to manually
👍
My motor is becoming loose like it wants to fall off the gear box. How do I tighten it back up to the gear box?
There should be 2 bolts that need to be tightened Depending in your set up you may have to pull it off and remove the top cover to get to the 2 bolts.
