    After playing the guitar for 50 years I have finally realised that if you try and learn to play the by guitar by yourself you have a fool for a teacher...that's why me and others need guys like yourselves.. thank you so much

      Thanks a great suggestion. I'm a big fan of Freddie King, love playing Hideaway live! And loads of great stuff in Billy Gibbons repertoire to look at. Will definitely put them in the pipeline!

    I think your sound like isms are great...I've always thought that the greats dont play their solos exactly the same every time but you definitely know its them.. in a previous lesson you posted about johnny winter in which I commented about your resemblance to Alvin Lee..I'm sure others have noted this...

    These type of vid lessons are good. Try to make Cream Clapton era lick lessons and Hendrix Purple Haze uses the M2 and M6 added to the minor pentatonic scale but also with the Band of Gypsys he also adds in notes to the minor pentatonic scale. Listen to the expanded deluxe version of Band Of Gypsys to find those added notes to the pentatonic scale to make YT lessons about.

    I am not criticising your lessons whixh are great. All I am talking about from one guitarist to another is you can learn how to play it but ultimately it is your individual interpretation that counts...I hope that makes sense

      I agree, but it's great to get inspiration from other players and then build your style from it, which I pretty much what every guitarist does.

    Love your videaos, found you about a week ago. Did all the blues greats plays most of their best licks in box 1 minor pentatonic?

    • @timdaleybluesguitar101
      @timdaleybluesguitar101  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much! What you are saying is pretty much correct, obviously not all blues players did their best stuff in box 1 but that's definitely the most preferred position for most of them. B.B for example probably did his most distinctive lines out of box 4 of major. SRV was def a box 1 guy! As was say Dave Gilmour.

    Question: How's you trem set up?

    • @timdaleybluesguitar101
      @timdaleybluesguitar101  ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest, I'm not a big fan of the trem so have it wound back and don't use it. I only really like Jeff Beck's trem technique.

    Sometimes Stevie would do that triplet from lick one strictly on the 2 - instead of the 9b.

    Good, but you can't give a SRV lesson without playing and bending down in the open strings . He really milked the E position . Almost all of his songs were in E with twanging the open strings down low

    My feelings are about guitar playing are you can know the licks and solos but ultimately it is down to the person who is playing them..guitar playing comes from the soul and if you haven't got that you won't sound any good..your guitar lessons are great but no one can teach soul and interpretation that is up to the individual.
