  • The first stripers of the season arrive on Cape Cod with big appetites as they seek out warmer water and abundant baitfish. In this episode, Chris Megan and Jimmy Fee intercept a school of migrating stripers riding an incoming tide into the bay on a beautiful May morning. Using topwater lures and jigs Jimmy and Chris kick off a new season of striped bass fishing while talking about the new regulations, proper catch and release, and fishing during the pandemic.

    love it - makes me wish it was may right now! i can hardly contain myself. I would not be so stupid to ask for locations, but to clarify what you said in the episode, about the warmer water and bays etc, would this be somewhere between falmouth and chatham on the sound side - is that what you mean with warmer water and such? I assume its not outer cape or bay? I live in orleans, so Im trying to learn more about where/when to head out to new locations around and be productive... thanks guys!

    • @OnTheWaterMedia
      @OnTheWaterMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the response Kyle and the countdown begins to spring! We were fishing the Vineyard sound side as it warms quicker than Cape Cod Bay and has an earlier run of fish. Pretty much any salt pond / estuary will be a good place to look around that time of year.

    As a fisherman that fishes this spot on a regular basis, I was extremely dismayed to see the overhead drone shots. I don't think it is necessary to blow a spot in order to make an episode of a TV show. As the major distributor of fishing related media on the Cape and New England in general, I would have thought that On The Water would have a greater understanding of the impact of such coverage. I have been an avid subscriber of your magazine for many years but this makes me question my upcoming renewal.

      Dude what do you expect them to do at the end of the day they’re in the business of making content and they have to make a good product, the drone shots are just that. Plus it’s not like they mentioned specifically where they are where to park, it still takes a fair amount of investigation and preparation to get out there, And if they’re willing to do it then they have every right to be there just as you do.

    • @robthorpe1591
      @robthorpe1591 3 ปีที่แล้ว
