I grew up in this wonderful town left in 1994 at 16 and moved to London but could never shake off my past in slough I go back every 5 years and it just gets worse and worse the high street was amazing with top shops! Anybody remember slough joke shop I think it was called Tommy's loosely linked to Tommy cooper? and slough computers that was were all the geeks like me met on Saturday morning! It has declined however that is a similar story with many high streets, Slough was thriving it was a fun place to be there used to be a big waitrose in the observatory centre Christmas was always a fun place to be in the high street to fun miss those great times xxx

This is amazing. I was born in Wexham Park in 86, and this is the Slough I remember as a kid! On a side note this looks to be late Summer 88, as two of the films showing are Crocodile Dundee 2 and Coming to America.
That's a good find. I remember Slough vividly from the 1970's onwards. This is 1985 or later - MkIII Ford Granada at 1:50 on the roof of Brunel Bus Station car park.
Wernham Hogg is now called The Brick house, or as us sloughians like to refer to it as “The Sh*t House” I don’t know what David Brent would think about that

The Wetherspoon in Slough High Street is called the Wernham Hogg - so it does have a presence of sorts!
