This "Face off" concept is great I wish more people would do it for sequencers because there are too many for synths, and sequencers are way more important to the process
Cheers Austin, feel like I got a few tutorials planned now so stick around. Finding this machine really deep. Also tried to figure out how u found this when it was unlisted 😀
@@Aisjam it is really deep, some say its the most powerful sequencer know to man at this time. A bit of a Einstein puzzle. I found your video on your page under the videos tab at that time it had no views.
Thankful to have found your channel. Thanks for all the Polyend videos. Im a newish owner of the Tracker, though I havent delved into it at all yet, and pondering if I should pick up a Play too. Not sure which will end up being a a good fit for me. So yeah, your videos are of tremendous help to me. o7
I have both and I think the Play is Amazing but if i had to choose between one or the other the Tracker makes more sense to me... The Play is just a ton of fun but I always think the biggest draw for one or the other is the Amiga Tracker style workflow or the classic groovebox workflow... I love my Play and think it is tons of inspirational fun but if someone has the budget for just one i'd say go with Tracker... But that's just me...
Thanks for this comparison video. I've seen a few videos where people have used the Play, and it had a few features that were appealing... I've also seen one or two videos on the Tracker... but not one where they were side by side with a description... and you helped clarify some of the differences. I'm old, and I learned on sequencers that used note lists (which I prefer over piano rolls.) Also borrowing some older drum machines, I typically dislike grid sequencers... So both have pros and cons, whereas I'm just wanting something fun to get back into synths after years away. So maybe I can deal with a grid sequencer, as the Play appears to allow some freedom over say an old 707. The Labor Day sale for the Tracker prompted me to look at comparisons, but the sale is now over... which I think is fine. What a good deal tho. Thanks again.
I feel it would benefit from some form sampling tools and spoke over on Polyend Backstage. However there is a lot of cool features with the sample packs that it would benefit from file management and sorting. I find that when you curate and create these sample packs, that's when this machine shines. its a little bit of work on the pc though but well worth it.
I really cant see any reason I would want the play, there is nothing it does that even slightly appeals to me and several things that actively put me off. Whereas I love my tracker to death. Looking forward to OS 1.7 soon.
I have both and I love my Play but since I picked up the Play before the Tracker i think if i had the option to choose one I would take the tracker... I think the Play is catered for people who dont like the classic Amiga tracker style workflows... And just want to "jam"

This is the plan and need to go make more.
Ohhh now here's a good idea for a video!
Appease the algorithm and divide people :). battle of the samplers.
Both, the answer is both
Looking so forward to the sample pack video. I'm a noob that needs the help. Thank you for any polyend play content!!!!

Correction I found this video in your polyend Play, playlist.
Thx, useful. I got a demo Polyend Play & I'm still goofing around with it.
Its definitely one of those muck around machines and get good results. Hope you have fun.

great vid!
Cheers Buddy :).
I want the formfactor and sequencer of the Play, but with real sampling features 😢

Could you share what things you like to do on devices like this?

Verse tracker mini
just my luck they drop the tracker mini when I made this video :).
@@Aisjam 😂 that be my luck 🍀 too
What are ya thoughts on the mini ?
Just finished a video on the mini :) th-cam.com/video/gG1nc71VTgw/w-d-xo.html
I def don't want another live 2 plus the extra 4 tracks, play plus it is...
Tracker is more for the deep thinking musicians. Play is for the others.
