My goodness this makes my heart sad. I don’t fit your main demographic. I’m a 53 year old male who came to the fire service later than most because I moved to a small town and they had a need on their volunteer department. And what is scary is that while 10 years ago this department had a long waiting list of young men who wanted to join, now, they can’t get anyone interested. And watching this video just makes me realize that the problem is much larger than I ever thought.

Just wanted to say thank you so much for all the help. Everything I implemented from your videos helped me achieve my goal. You’re the best! Thank you, sir.

Man, i agree with all of these points so much.
I'm 24 and i work at a small department. And some days, I'm really struggling to find my purpose.
I want to have a wife and family. But I feel like a freak if i go try and talk to a girl at the gym or anywhere public.
I'm trying to workout and be active. I'm so tired of the "sigma male" and "submissive man" viewpoints. I pay for Onlyfans subscriptions and it makes me feel like a complete disgrace and failure.
I just want to feel like i matter in the world.

In a way, men have to earn their place. That's how I view it anyway, and you'll have a hard time doing that when you're paying women to see them naked or do provocative things. Go out and find some hobbies, meet new people, meet women through people and not just at a gym or whatever.
It's important to not give up on yourself and keep looking, no matter how bleak things may seem. Read or listen to some philosophy, like kierkigaard or some stoics and get some new perspectives on how to live as a man or just well in general. Write your thoughts down when they're bothering you so you can get a handle on the problems you're having and come up with solutions.
Keep strong brother, you're still so young and have more time than you know to find your way.

You're a first responder! A hero to those of us who depend on you! You MATTER and we appreciate you! Its your age (24) that you're passing thru which is a time just starting your career and trying to find your way, and is challenging. I remember when I was your age and I felt many of the same things. It will pass. Stand tall and be proud of yourself for what you're doing for your community. I'm a retired engineer. I would have loved to have had a life that mattered as yours does! What you do online in your spare time is your business and does not take away from the great things you're doing! My advice: Be true to yourself, your goals, your priorities and your dreams. Do what's right for you and don't let judgements of other people get you down. You will do great things in this life!

i agree with all of this, i’m a 22 year old male and to be quite honest young men have become the underdogs and scapegoats of society; whilst at the same time having to meet the expectations, and responsibilities that have always been placed on men.. with no one guiding us or at the very least routing for us men, who are still the BACKBONE of society are being led off a cliff one way or another. i encourage any young man to never give up in the face of adversity, research as much as you can to acquire all the knowledge and information you can, and continue to be a strong moral individual with a drive. because although their egos wont allow them to admit it, you are so very important and the world needs you all. continue fighting my brothers, AND THANK YOU FOR YOU WORDS BIG BROTHER MIKE we love your channel

    • @FunGamingContent
      @FunGamingContent 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Another thing to be aware of brother is to not be online or to log onto our social media accounts onto them everyday. If we work on balance and tell people who work at home drinking Mountain Dew everyday we don't care about your blog or reason why. It is because we are not wanting to be in conflict that will damage your time with friends. I have seen it happen to a few dudes in high school who used social media but never cared for texting or calling which is the personal aspect of what a phone is for.
I want to encourage young men to communicate but to find things that you want to do as a hobby, as career, maybe be becoming an older brother. Don't follow social media trends nor listen to a lot of people on any social media platform as the devil is anyone and anything. Be aware

Once again solid advice. Not just for the fire service but for life. Mentoring is important but even more important is the young person open to advice. I've seen many times young kids openly ignore older people's attempt to help them to the point of disrespect. If an old firefighter offers you his expertise you would be best not to dismiss him because there won't be a second time if you do.

So I'm 35, have a wife, and currently a very stable job that pays well. But I'm not fulfilled by the office life and want to get back into the community service role that I grew up with, be that Americorps and Peace Corps. I'm in great shape, marathon runner and mountain biker, and am ready to start a new career in the fire service. Am I crazy for thinking this? I've talked with a couple friends who are firefighters and they all say it's never too late, but it does have that feeling when you're staring at the short term affects of the career change.

Amen Brother! I was almost blindsided by men's countercultural mindset, and it almost ruined my life. Thank God I have men in my life that I can trust.
What you said about bonding between men is so true. I worked in a small department as an EMT and for the most part, these men were toxic men who almost daily assaulted, belittled, and destructively criticized me and anything I did as I worked. I never felt so alone then when I was with a group of men who cared nothing for me. I still loved being a first responder and pray I can do it again someday.

Well said. We also need to be able to identify these young men and if you are in the position to do so, mentor them. I'm an electrician and became a volunteer FF and EMT at 42 yrs old. Love the fire service. It's a shame more young men are worrying about how to become influencers than getting into a career that would suit them and indoctrinate them into manhood. Pity.

Thank you for showing both extreme cultures in this!
A bit more than a year ago I was struggling in nearly every aspect mentioned in this video. I believe all that's needed to begin to succeed is to find fulfillment in one of these categories. In my case I started talking with a woman who would become my best friend, then in time my lover. She inspired me to be the best version of myself, to work hard, to improve my health, to strive toward a future instead of meandering just to get through the day. I've had friends pick up sports and find connections to jobs and even more friends that they never had before, and through those connections romantic partners.
I believe it all comes down to determination and patience, faith that things will be better as long as you're trying. Things will still suck for quite some time, but it will get easier, and life will throw you opportunities, you just need to be there!

Mike, you are validating my argument for reinstating the military draft. It is shock therapy for young men to modify their paradigm and learn teamwork with self discipline. For some, it will be the first time that they were trained to learn how to push themselves into accomplishing things well beyond what they thought they could achieve. There will be pushback from mothers and anti-war university types. Something is going to have to be done to change that or we will be creating generations of failures.

As someone who was rejected from the military, it's important for you to know that one of the biggest reasons is nearsightedness.
I was young and fit and had good character references and I passed every part of the admission process but I was just too nearsighted.
We've now possibly reached the last generation that will face debilitating nearsightedness and the accompanying risks of blindness later in life because of new technologies that are available like eye shaping lenses and medications to relax accommodation muscles in the eye.
But people who are adults now are the most nearsighted in history.
Edited to add: If you are going nearsighted, talk to your optometrist right now about ortho-k lenses

I am a former volunteer firefighter I feel I truly failed on my career path I don't get excepted by any fire departments anymore I have 5 years of service to the community I find myself at times that I am not deserving of my old fire helmet I struggle with ptsd but what can I do to regain trust with the departments ?

I NEED YOUR OPINION, I’m 17 turning 18 tomorrow soon to be graduating, I love fighting(muay Thai) and I also love teaching, I currently train 5 times a week and assist in teaching 3 times a week, I want to open a gym in the future and teach martial arts. I can’t find a career I want, one I thought of a fire fighter, based off your experience do you believe becoming a fire fighter will compensate well with living the life of a fighter, I want to keep building my record and keep coaching, do you think if I became a fire fighter I could get around to keep training to do that? Would be much appreciated!!!!🙏

Sure, I know a lot of guys that are fighters and firefighters. In fact, Stipe Miocic is a career firefighter and fighting in the UFC. So yes, it’s certainly possible.

PLEASE READ!!! So long story short I am a 16 year old from Maryland. I want to have a career as a fire fighter. But the problem is I have a medical illness called P.O.T.S and it gets a little better as you get older but I was curious if you could please make a video on whether people with illnesses should become a firefighter or not

I know I'm a female. I just completed GPSTC . I am now about to complete GFSTC . I understand there's a lot of stereotyping in the departments in Georgia . How is the best way to cope with this. I'm little but very strong. I can out work half of these men. I will be in the Savannah metro area. I really don't want to interfere with my work it would be the best way to cope with it?

Your channel name changed to your personal name. Which I guess makes sense. But I was confused at first

Guys, what do you think would be better going to a fire academy at community college or paramedic program. I say this because over here in California from where I’m from they both cost around 5k. I’m leaning more wasting 5k for my paramedic license instead of going through a college fire academy.
