Nico has the ability to throw his WRs open. That's rare for a Jr in High School. This kid will turn Tennessee into a contender. The biggest QB recruit they've had since Casey Clausen.

I am a longtime Vols fan (class of '92) and I have been celebrating ever since Huepel was hired! Some were saying that coach couldn't recruit. I guess now they have to shut up! We finally found a coach we can love! It has required 2 decades, but we got the man for the job! So excited that Hooker is returning! Things are bright in Knoxville once again! Good job JD! I liked & subed. Go Big 🍊

This kid is better than Arch Manning. Just found out Arch is a bit old for his class! He turns 18 in July.
I like his style of play better than Arch. The powers that be from the SEC imo influenced others to rank Arch higher but looking and comparing the two. Arch appears to be more dynamic and skillful throwing near coverage and extending plays even when using only his arm or whenever he has to scramble. Another thing I like about him, is he knows he's the best..

Could you examine Nico's brother, Madden? I saw Bret did an interview with him when Nico visited. I have very little knowledge of Madden's ability but from what I"m told, its comparable to Nico and I'm sure we're eyeing him up to come to TN. Since they are close in age, he's have a couple of years after Nico potentially would leave.

People got to chill with these crazy high expectations. This roster we have is not that good. We have a QB, some speedy receivers and a really good coach and scheme. We are thin and not great in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Losing Velus and Cade and Alontae will hurt. Our defense doesnt look to be any better talent-wise this year vs last. If we start like we finished and continue to see more big improvement throughout the course of the season then we may have something. I mean our ceiling is what 4 losses? 3 losss? WE WERE 7-6 LAST YEAR…. I do believe in Heupel, but I do not believe in Tennesseee Vols fan base’s ability to have realistic expectations. We are headed in the right direction but we are a good 2 to 3 years away from any real contention best case scenario. Like SEC champions or make the final 4.
Yea they went 7-6, but take in to account the bad calls and injuries time outs with ole miss and perdue meaning we should have won those games and now your at 9-4, had Heupel started Hooker against Pitt thats another win so 10-3 as a first year head coach with 35 players leaving and having no recruiting class of your own and having to rely on the transfer portal for players so that was the first year they all played together and look at the results, now that the defense will be accustomed to how fast the offense moves it will be alot better this year

LOL... do you know how many factual errors there are in that 4 minutes? Iamaleava was recruited by Oregon, Bama, and UGA... that says he's a pretty good QB. He's not making $8 million a year. In fact, no one knows for certain that the article last week was about him though many assume. It is admitted that he has an NIL deal. The QB in the article is getting about $300K now... and may earn UP TO $8 million over the term of the contract.
UT football has been down since 2008... and is 11-3 vs UK over that period. At the apex of UK football history and at one of the lowest points of UT football history... The Vols beat UK about 80% of the time.
The idea that Heupel gets "worse every year" is plain stupid. At UCF he had a 1 loss season followed by a 3 loss season where they lost by a TOTAL of 7 points. No loss by more than 3. That's not a dramatic fall off. Offensively, he was consistent every year. Over 42 ppg each year.
Defense is a legit concern. Can UT build a D.
I hope you believe that Heupel's O is a gimmick. It isn't. He runs a version of what most other coaches run.... he just runs it faster. Even when teams flop and slow it down... it is still effective because of the way he spreads the D out and simplifies reads for the QB and WR's.
Great post! We also have to consider that CJH accomplished the above while losing this star QB's. And everyone is saying how important the QB position is in CJH's system. I think he weathered the adversity well at UCF. Also when you consider how many opt outs the program had during rona. If UGA suffered such adversity I doubt them or UK would win 6 games.

@@phillupondz I know two coaches whom are furious Nico went to TN. Saban and Smart..lol. Now they are watching more 5 stars coming to TN, taking visits, anticipating their commitments to TN, along with a slew of 4 stars who have been and more to come. If coaches don't like that, you can bet their fans don't because they know what it means? Teams like TN, A&M, Oregon, Miami, USC are going to be getting a comparable amount of blue chip players going forward. Now imagine if you are a school that has a coach that actually can produce elite offenses. So angry! lol

Maybe you're just a positive guy or I haven't seen enough of your videos, but it seems like whenever you ask "will x be good at y", your answer is always "yes". Something about that doesn't sit right with me. Maybe you just want to focus on the positive and that's fine, but it seems to me like you're not considering both the positive and the negative. I think what you are missing is a balanced coverage where you show plays that highlight a players' strengths and weaknesses.
Ok, so how about you point out all the wrong things Nico is doing at QB for us? No QB is perfect, especially a HS QB. But he's doing the vast majority of things right and that is what his 5 star ranking is all about. JD is not CJH, so pinpointing what he could improve upon, he's probably leaving that up to CJH and staff. JD is not a coach, so let's give him the props for evaluating what Nico is doing right, because those things are why we went after Nico.
