You guys do a terrific job! Especially when evaluating the more complicated aspects of football when it comes to the offensive and defensive lines. For the Vols to prove you guys wrong about being able to stop the leading rusher in the SEC and get out there and pound the rock like they did, is really eye opening in regards to how good the coaching staff might be. I mean they are really developing guys. Defensivley we were flying around out there like we havent seen in a while really. We were about a 1000% more aggressive and sure of ourselves as opposed to week 1. You kinda saw that level of defense in the first half against UGA. They played well enough to get some stops and the offense was keeping right up with with them giving us a lead. That first half translated directly to the Mississippi state game. I think you guys didn't highlight enough about how easily we were moving the ball when Maurer was in the game. He just happened to have two really boneheaded interceptions in the end zone that cost us anywhere from 14 to 6 points. If he had stayed in that game however, I think we would have beaten them SOUNDLY. I'm thinking Brian doesnt throw anymore end zone interceptions. We probably would have still gone mostly conservative in light of those interceptions just not as blatantly conservative as we were with JG at the helm. Before they couldn't stop the run they also couldn't stop our passing game, I mean guys were wide open. There were only 4 passes that weren't caught by Vols the whole day and two of them were crazy interceptions. The rest were all pretty much big pass plays. It really sucks that Brian couldnt have stayed out there and learned from his mistakes and gotten a chance to play through an entire game. I think it would be very beneficial for us if Brian Maurer can stay out there for a full 4 quarters against Alabama before we go on this stretch run. If he is to do that then that means three things. He didn't play bad enough to pull him out. He didn't get hurt. He got all that valuable experience against a juggernaut and held his own. That sets us up as well as possible for the South Carolina game. Barring other substantial injuries. Brian is the key to whether or not we can make it to a bowl game because it's not going to happen with JG.
Great show! It’s crazy are we actually talking about the o line and saying “ which guy should start “? Not cause there not good enough, but which one do you sit lol! I truly believe Tennessee will make a bowl game! If they win out after Alabama, do you guys think Pruitt gets some coach of the year consideration? Go vols woot woot

Mauer needs to face Bama. Stop saying you would sit him to protect him. Its football. He needs to get in there. To beat the best you have to play the best.
Yeah I get the sentiment, but I've never heard of anyone actually doing that. The kid is confident as hell and if theres something you could do to piss him off in a bad way would be to rest him against Bama. I bet he cant wait to play them.
