this was an awesome song written and recorded by the late great Marty Robbins in 1959! Tompall and the glazer brothers did the original harmonies on the single which became the first country and western song to win a grammy award!Go MARTY!!!
I agree with your comment of this being an awesome song and certainly the great award-winning recording by Marty. But the three Glaser brothers did NOT all sing harmony behind him on that recording. The harmony was a duet by Jim Glaser and Bobby Sykes. Sykes went on to be a permanent back-up singer for Marty, along with Don Winters.
So, So Sad that They are gone but their Wonderful Heart-Warming music will live on and will be tremendously enjoyed by Many for Many Many Years to come. Rest In Peace.
john sandiford The Glaser was Marty Robbins back-up singers in 1959 to early 60's, it the Brothers you hear backing Marty on this song El Paso, they do a nice version of their own here, thanks for the listen!
@@dvdman49 Only Jim Glaser recorded with Marty Robbins on El Paso..along with Bobby Sykes doing harmony too. Tompall and Chuck did NOT do harmony on El Paso.
Not sure if you guys cares but if you are bored like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all the latest series on InstaFlixxer. I've been watching with my brother these days xD
@MrBlodsven Read my comment... Tompall did not miss a key but there is a verse missing from the song. Not a problem.... as Tompall is a legend anyway and El Paso is frequently shortened from the original. I sorry I don't understand the rest of you comment to be able to indulge you.
@tigget308 My apology! You´re right, the song is shorter than Marty´s original version. I´m a very big fan of Tompall´s, so I was a little bit to hot there...
In my humble opinion it's as good as Marty and I really prefer this version. And I have loved Marty since he first started singing! This is not an easy song to sing AND BOTH VERSIONS ARE GOOD!
What a find in this old Marty Robbins story sung by Tompall and the Glaser Brothers. They are so good, none better. Thank you dvdman49.
