Generational cycles are so interesting. Kris's grandmother married multiple times and valued beauty, kris's mother married multiple times and used her beauty in exchange for financial security even if it meant being in an abusive relationship and exposing your kids to it, Kris used beauty and youth as a way to ensure she would be with an older man as a way of self affirmation and financial security, and Kim was young when she got married to her first husband who was also abusive and has since been married multiple times..........
Generational cycles affect every type of family and it's crazy how difficult it is to break out of it and if you do, you also set off another chain of a future generational cycle (hopefully for the better though).

And you can see it in the others too. Khloe’s insecurities because of how different she looks from the rest…almost all of them drastically changed their looks, but with Khloe, it’s the most dramatic. And the way Khloe and Kourtney chose to conduct their romantic lives too. I didn’t realize Kris and Caitlyn had married so soon after meeting…the first thing I thought of was “so, that explains why Khloe felt right marrying Lamar.” And the pressure she later felt to stick by him until he was at least physically stable, and the toxicity of her relationships since all are indicative of the pattern in previous generations too. And it also explains why Kourtney was so reluctant to marry Scott (and seemed to take the longest to consider marriage overall), even if she was happy to have kids with him, because while he seems like a decent father, he wasn’t a good partner for her in the long run. To be fair, she did seem to have a whirlwind romance with Travis as well, but compared to what she had before? It’s no contest.

But they literally gave her nothing in that family but a name and a bunch of insecurities. It was already bad in the show. The book puts in full perspective.

You can tell Roberts passing effected Kourtney and Rob more so the Kim and Khole. Well everyone believes Khole isn’t a Kardashian. Kris does seem diabolical, true that.
But, I grew up pretty too. I have had modeling offers, I did an online commercial, etc. But, I didn't take full advantage of my beauty. I kinda stayed in the $40,000 and under category---regarding men.
Looking back, I would rather deal with men and all their crap and be in middle class or upper class...as opposed to dealing with it while poor.

    • @TheDawnofVanlife
      @TheDawnofVanlife ปีที่แล้ว +11

@@mariecampbell3373 How do you control your cost category of men? Shouldn’t it just be meeting the right person and less avoiding a certain wage bracket. Is there some quiz you do before dating? 😂 i would say even doing such a thing is pretty privilege.
Pretty privilege is mostly an unintentional thing. You get it because you are pretty, while it can be weaponized it mostly doesn’t have to be … it’s a societal default like a very attractive person might have goodness assumed about them because people associate attractiveness with goodness and uglyness with badness (thanks for enforcing this movies!). You almost have to do something to prove the opposite based on your initial attractiveness quotient. That’s one of many defaults to pretty privilege.
Moderately attractive women can use being female as a manipulation if they want to. Even women who aren’t conventionally attractive can use that of they want to. I don’t think there’s anything special about pretty privilege when used as an actual tool, because of the way using being female bodied works almost anyone female bodied who is particularly focused on that can find a means of using being female bodied as just a tool to get ahead. It’s a manipulation tactic, not pretty privilege.

How did she make those things about herself in those interview clips? I didn’t notice that. It didn’t come off to me that way at all. She was asked about those things so she answered. Like in the clip explaining how her kids dealt with their fathers death she just briefly went over how each child took it and the affects it had on them and only at the end said how she is the type to keep busy after hard times like that. Also when talking about Nicole’s death she just described how she found out about it and said that her and her other friends felt like they had failed Nicole. I’m not trying to defend Kris I’m genuinely curious because maybe I completely missed how she made everything about herself.

So true. I never understood Kris, money above all else and how she'd do anything for it. But seeing how she learned from her mother and grandmother and how they married multiple times etc, just like her and Kim. It makes sense. She was drawn to older men with money and her family didn't care yet she was also independent, choosing being an air hostess over Rob at first. He was too old. She cheated but didn't he leave her before they got married too? Kourtney always seemed the angriest with her mother, apparently as she was the oldest and saw everything. She said I'd never do to my kids what you did to us. Kris saying you have a Todd too. Kourtney no, I'm not married. I'm not cheating. Kourtney must have been scared of marriage and also didn't think she should marry Scott. She was the last to marry. She must love Travis. Even trying to have another child with him. Like her mother. They are all similar. Multiple children and marriages. Their choices in men. They go where they get the money. Like Kris was taught. Like ignoring Kylie being with Tiger or Travis.

Funny, they're not really kardashians. Kris divorced Rob, Kim and Kourtney are married, Khloe was. Rob is barely on the show and only his child, Dream is Kardashian by name. The others by blood. Like someone said, Chyna would have been the (only) Kardashian woman and the sisters were threatened by that. She may have been smart to play that game. The true Kardashian. Interesting how the show was the Kardashians but only some of the kids were and Kris wasn't at that time. The Jenners sound boring?

She sadly learned from her mother. She doesn't care who her kids are with as long as they get money. Her perception is skewed. Interesting she apparently always knew Bruce didn't want to be a man. It shows what we see as reality isn't reality. Bruce always seemed so masculine. It's strange how he acts now. Why say 'her' when it was Bruce at the time? And even if Kris tried to stop him seeing his kids, he has a choice. They say she's narcissistic and loves attention. Did Kim learn that from her? Kourtney doesn't seem to be like that. The friends who left her when she divorced Robert and then came back after seem like users. Why did they only come back when she was in the spotlight ?

She is completely shallow. She's not sad about the divorce, she’s just sad she lost the glamorous life that came with the marriage. That rendition of “I love LA” is so cringe. She loves her friends. She does not love her friends, she just loves the connections she receives. Those K’s she named her daughters shows she's a narcissistic mom. Most narcissistic parents view their children as an extension of themselves. That’s probably because the daughters are named with a K.

I was struck by how ingrained the whole thing with marrying a man of status was in Kris by previous generations in her family. Despite the Kardashians engaging with and sometimes engineering modern trends, it strikes me how old fashioned their values when you boil it down to its core. It almost feels like they and the Duggars come from a similar place, despite preaching different messages. Ultimately, both systems are rooted in the patriarchy and they just pick and choose what works for them/their family.

I don't think she cares about anyone unless they can do something for her and I agree, it appeared to me that she didn't seem to care about what was happening with Nicole. It's either one way or the other - either she really was her friend and ignored the obvious signs of ab*se, or she wasn't close to her at all but after she was unalived, wanted to use it as a way to be in the spotlight. Either choice still shows what trash she is.

By the time he passed, only Kourtney had graduated from college so in the article I read, it said that basically that was it, he left the rest nothing because he wanted to instill a work ethic into them. I wonder if there also wasn't some bitterness when all was said and done. Honestly, I find it hilarious but at the same time, he must be rolling in his grave to know what his girls have become because of her. Spitting image and seemingly same behavior.

I felt for Kris a tiny bit during her up bringing, but it seems her mom taught her well in the art of gold digging. These people are absolutely sick. I feel bad for the kids having to grow up around someone like this, they will never ever know true happiness and that is by far the true tragedy. Kris is a terrible person who only thinks about herself, she has influenced her kids to be absolutely fake. Plastic face, plastic soul. Her and her kids have mislead a whole generation of girls thru that stupid reality tv show and their brand deals into thinking money is everything, only care about yourself, and plastic is good, treating people like crap is ok. That's what we all have to live with now. They are not the problem, but they are a huge part of it. In no way do I support this family and what they stand for. If you need any help or have any questions please feel free to email me at betheecommentator@gmail.com!! What kind of content will you be creating on your channel?? 🥰😊

Caitlyn was always such a good spouse to Kris. She always just seemed to love Kris unconditionally. Also this video is so wonderful! You are so talented! Love your videos!

Thank you so much 😊 also I agree after watching episodes for research purposes it seemed she was really pushed to the side

@@betheecommentator she really was! Like Kris didn’t seem to care about what Caityln wanted but just what got her fame. I liked the point you made about how she always wanted attention. Also just watching the show, the first few seasons, Caitlyn is always so concerned about all her kids and Kris is just more concerned about the fame

This was excellent! I am not a Kardashian fan, whatsoever, but, I enjoyed this video. Well researched and delivered. Do you have a timeframe when you will be releasing part 2?

    • @betheecommentator

Thank you so much for watching especially since it was necessarily a topic of your interest, I’m glad you gave it a chance and enjoyed it in the end. The timeframe for the second one I’m hoping could be out in two weeks 😊
