This French castle once belonged to a Chinese man but he was arrested with fraud. Everything in his beautiful castle was left behind! It's like a time capsule!

That large chandelier is the most beautiful one i have ever seen and i have seen alot of them...wow
I, too, hate the ivory trade, but all of the furniture that was in the trophy room was made with steer horns from beef cattle. Horns are often removed so that the cattle don't harm one another. This is done while they are living and it doesn't harm or hurt the animal. The horns have no feeling - just like hair or fingernails. I detest the taking of wild and endangered animals just for the sake of shooting them. It should be illegal.
Oh, Oemmie, prayers for a fast recovery. This is an astonishingly resplendent castle, overshadowed by the horrific trophy room. The photos only added to the disgust and cruelty of it all. However, what a magnificent first video. You and Oemmie are unsurpassed for quality, uniqueness, and excellence in your presentations of abandoned structures. Ahhh, what a joy to have you both back.....thank you and again, get well soon Oemmie. You were missed in this video.
What a beautiful castle with so many antiques and beautiful architecture! I loved how the wooden floors were designed. Oh, it is so good to have you back with your beautiful cinematography and narration. Hope Oemmie is well. Only the trophy room made me sad and angry. The furniture there with the horns is just tasteless and a typical example of the lacking
compassion of the rich castle owner for the animals, that he needs to show in this way his means of power over other living creatures.

This place is so amazing! The rooms were decorated with beautiful furnishings. This video was your best one of a castle that I have come across watching. It looked as though time had stopped and someone was still living there.

What a beautifull place! Loved the furniture and the children's room with the "Beatrix Poter like" drawings very well done. I completly agree with you, its a shame to our species how can Man be so cruel and heartless... I really hate everything that we wear and display just for fun that is based on death of animals. My country ( Portugal) is very connected with Africa and there were, in the past, several portuguese people that brought hunting trophies here to Portugal like heads, hands of Gorilas, fur all kinds of horrific items... really sad. I am glad it is forbiden now. Ho does it must end up in jail.

The MICKEY MOUSE was drawn in the Earliest form of that cartoon figure in either very late 20's or early 30's. That form is not nearly as fuzzy cuddly as we know him today.

I'm no expert but that looks more like water buffalo horn than ivory or rhino still incredibly tacky
Dat wat je daar zag was geen ivoor! Het waren geweien van herten en stieren, de kleinere komen waarschijnlijk van geiten

Is it possible that the castle is empty because they were taken away during WW2 by Nazi's and Hitler. The time period of most furnishings seems to be around that period. If so, then how sad.

No, those are horns from cows. They are called Longhorn cattle.
You are absolutely right, it is a shame what they do to the animals, they had to place these horns on the heads that slaughtered these animals.
Yes the room with all the tusks is really heartless. I am sorry to have seen this. All those poor creatures that were killed for furniture. I can not believe that this is what we were. Glad that most of us are not like that anymore.
Get your animals straight. Most of those chairs were made from horns not tusks. Not ivory. I don't condone either but don't make yourself look dumb.

I know you are sensitive to these animals being killed but back in the day if they did not hunt, they did not eat. There were no local butcher stores to go to to buy a rack of lamb!

That furniture made out of animal parts is also some of the UGLIEST crap ever made. It says a lot about the kind of lowlife scumbag who would want to own it.

hate to say but you should really check your facts before stating as fact certain things. and then to cut in those sad pictures of elephants being butchered for man's vanity. that furniture was not made of ivory but cow horns. quite often they are dehorned if the animal has proven dangerous for the safety of ranchers and other livestock. making furniture of their horns was popular in the 40's and 50's. of course at times the animals were killed but not just for their horns but for meat and leather. if you are a vegetarian you can say what you like about barbarians eating meat but i love a good steak!
