I just broke the door handle on my 2004 Elantra yesterday. This cold weather here in Maryland got the door stuck and I pulled too hard to try to get in. Your video is everything I'd hoped to help me replace it. Thank you for posting!
Great video. It will help many. The only suggestion I would offer, when putting the plastic back on, and I realize its a pain to realign all that sticky, is to cover up all the openings originally covered. One was missed in the upper right corner. It's there to to prevent both hot or cold air intrusion into the vehicle by way of the door, is passive thermal and sound insulation, is a design factor in air pressure handling of the car when opening and closing the doors, and helps to maintain the proper acoustics within. People are often surprised to number of annoyances from even a minor disturbances to the various seals around the vehicle.
You had to remove the window panel to do this video, but it's been skipped over. Is there any other videos you might have that deal with that specific information?
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair Sorry, you're right. I tried to replace my own car's door handle some days ago with your video and with some info from internet but couldn't find anything on how to remove the window glass other than it wasn't safe to do so. Tried it again after posting this comment but this time around I just rolled the window all the way up and was able to access the inner 10mm bolts. Thank you, and I'm sorry.
Question what if both sides have broken handles? How do you open the door and fix it? A friend of my have both handles broken and the lock is on even when you disable the lock.
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair it’s the back door on the right side that have both the outside and inside handles broken, he can get to 4 out of the 5 screws out but not the one near the front side passenger. The door seems to be completely lock and it won’t unlocked when you hit the unlock switch. The two doors in the front and the back left door are fine.
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair Esta mañana he cambiado sin problema el tirador de la puerta del conductor y sin el video no se si hubiera sido capaz de hacerlo. Repito las gracias.
