I am a woman born in the Netherlands but with Indonesian blood in me. You know that in the Netherlands we call that Indo's or Indisch. My father spent 4 years in a Japanese camp. With the help of a fellow inmate (who later became his best friend) and his faith, he survived. In 1955 he came to the Netherlands with my mother. All my brothers, sisters and I were born in the Netherlands. Physically and mentally he still has something left over from the years that he was imprisoned. He died 3 days before my 6th birthday at the age of 50 from the effects of those years. He has always hated that he had to leave Indonesia. His body was in the Netherlands, but I think his heart was in Indonesia. My mother, on the other hand, never felt the need to return, although it is such a beautiful country. My brothers took over the love for Indonesia from him. Especially my second brother, although he has never been to Indonesia, although he would love to go. My oldest brother went to Indonesia a few years ago. He enjoyed it so much and loved it. My father's love for Indonesia lives on with them. Sometimes I have the idea that my second brother's past is still alive. I think we should learn from the past and take care and hope it never happens again. Enjoy Indonesia. Although Japan has done a lot to my father and other relatives, including my grandmother on my mother's side, I don't let that affect me. I also love Japan. It is even true that my children move more to Japan, although their father (my ex) is also Indo. My oldest lived there for a year. We can no longer change the past, we make the future ourselves. Don't judge someone by the past. Give each other love and peace and we are already well on the way. Sorry, a long story 😊
So much complexity was added also with Japan involving for those few years. The camps were terrible, sad to hear it kinda took your grandfather’s heart and love.. i like how everybody is looking forward. Hopefully everybody is able to find the thing and get to the place that they feels best with.
@@JesseReacts My father was often put in isolation, often not given water or bread. Yes it was terrible. He himself never said much about it. But he had become very hard. We also noticed this in his upbringing towards us. Physically and mentally. Until recently, I didn't show my emotions easily, just kept smiling and all that. Even when I had a bad accident. I just kept going. For we had learned from him not to show our weakness. Now I know better. One day I hope that all people will learn from it, although I doubt it

Among the parts of the Indonesian anthem included by Novia Bachmid: 1. Lingsir wengi comes from the island of Java especially central Java. 2. Cik Cik Periuk comes from the Sambas, West Kalimantan. 3. Sinanggar Tulo came from Northern Sumatra. 4. Ayo Mama from the Maluku islands. 5. Anging Mammiri came from South Sulawesi. 6. Lalo Ngaro came from Sasak Lombok East. 7. Tanduk Majeng came from the Madura islands. 8. The last of our national anthem from Indonesia was the one of Mengheningkan Cipta, Shanna Shannon sang in white between the flames. The one moment of silence Shannon has sung in memory of all the services our former heroes have fallen before us. The song we used to sing any at the time of the red and white flag ceremony. The song creeps us out every time we listen to it. The bird that flies over that hill is also the symbol of our country, Indonesia. It's Garuda bird. The eagle's state symbol also has a particular meaning: 1. The Garuda has our country's symbol, Indonesia. 2. The Garuda's hoof clings to a single Bhinneka Tunggal Ika when it comes from the book of Sotasoma by the Tantular Emphatti that has different meanings but one is also (tribe, religion, culture, and language). 3. The golden yellow represents majesty, constantly charging high in the dignity of a people of great and lofty character. 4. The number of feathers on the right and left wing is 17, which means the 17th day our country has been free from Dutch and Japanese rule for 350 years. 5. Tail feathers of 8 have the sense of August when we celebrate independence day. 6. Below the chain of shields connecting with the tail is the number 19 feather and the hair on the neck 45 (showing the figure of 1945, in which our country of Indonesia was free from the Dutch and Japanese rule in 1945). The instrument is called Sasando and the hat is called Ti'i Langga. Both are Rote Island, Nusa Tenggara Timur. Alffy Rev says that the production of a video clip of the Wonderland Indonesia 2 times will take about 8 months, and early in the song, there are Kecak dancers involved with up to 300. Thank you for loving our country of Indonesia and for watching it on the 77th year of the Independence Day Republic of Indonesia. We are proud to be Indonesians. MERDEKA!!! 🇮🇩💪
One of the interesting things living in Indonesia is.. when you visit another island, it feels like visiting another country. The language, the food, the culture are all different, sometimes the people too (different race). Especially visiting rural area where not all people able to speak Bahasa Indonesia, me Jane you Tarzan it is lol
the colonizations and wars is just the past, now it is our work to spread love and peace to everyone no matter where they from, what is their skin colors, religion, race, ethnics, social status, and the others. just be united and love everybody!❤

19:57 oh man, first.. I want to say thank you for your explanation or statement about Indonesian independence and you know very well about it, I really appreciate that and I cry when you talk about it, either it's very emotional for me, Indonesian people have forgiven it, but not to forget that history, Indonesia and the Netherlands have a very good relationship now, a lot of cooperation in their respective governments, Thank you man ☺️
Yeah i am glad we finally officially excused ourselves. Which also means the country is required to aid in multiple ways. Late, but i guess it shows remorse from the current generation. Clearly the cultures are still heavily intertwined. Here in the Netherlands and i assume the footprint is still apparent there. I am happy you’re able to talk about words like forgiveness. Guess that’s also a way of showing independence and moving on in the right direction 💪 happy the Netherlands and Indonesia are good these days. Would love to visit one day.
Yeah, I'm very grateful to my president Mr. Joko Widodo, who is extremely wise, taught us to accept whatever happened in the past, in history only he was the president who was able to teach us that, promise Man, one day you will come to Indonesia, a lot of Dutch people come to Bali, and also Indonesians who live in the Netherlands, there are almost 2 million people there, wow that was crazy man 😊

I really appreciate for your video reaction of this Alffy Rev's work. He is so talented DJ, cinematography director, and artist. On that video visualy give us Through this video, it gives us an overview of the diversity of ethnicity in Indonesia, both in terms of dance, culture, folk songs, and a sense of patriotism towards the homeland. If 1 soldier in battlefield 1000 people also come forward to fight together.. Nowaday there are 275 million inhabitants of Indonesia those who are ready to fight if our country's sovereignty is disturbed.. However, we are aware from the philosophy of our ancestors and our leaders after independence that in this life if we have "1 enemy is too much and 1000 friends is too few" that's mean we all Indonesian people prefer peace, not aggressive as a country, not considering superior as a nation over any other country, but we are all equal as humans. Okay left the past behind, learned about that for the future "Seng wes yo wes".. I hope you react more about Indonesia so that it becomes an insight into historical and past knowledge (although sensitive), as long as you don't react to political matters, I think it will give positive values for 2 different countries who has had a long history of attachment.. For that reason, maybe I can also give good suggestions on the choice of videos that you want to react to.. not only about music, because there is nothing wrong as long as it is interesting and can make your channel grow positively..
