Hi question, when the city comes and starts working installing the pipes etc how long do they normally take to finish your street? Thank you

Thanks for watching. They work in sections and when they get to your segment of streets, the work itself, at least on your individual street, tends to be reasonably quick, but they won’t repave the street until they have everything done in that whole section. So, you’ll probably be driving on dirt/gravel roads for at least a couple of months. It’s definitely not a minor thing.

Hi Dustin, You didn't mentioned it here, but I've seem houses with both a whole home RO system and a water softener system with 4 tanks. Do they use one of the softeners for the irrigation system to prevent rust stains on everything from the well water? and the other to soften water going into the house?

That’s a good question. I honestly can’t remember seeing a whole house RO system with extra softener tanks like that, but it makes sense that your reasoning is sound. I’ve always been under the impression that the RO system removes nearly all of the impurities, so it would soften the water as well by removing most of the calcium, but I suppose someone who’s upgrading from the basic system to an RO could just keep the old filter/softener as well to maybe make it easier on the RO system and filter it that much more. Maybe they soften it first then it goes through the RO to remove any leftover salt? I could definitely see wanting to treat the irrigation water like you mentioned. That raw water can definitely stain walls or driveways. Good question. Maybe I’ll ask the Water Medic guys next time I see them.

I have to watch my salt intake.

Once the water goes through a treatment system, you’re not going to have any meaningful amount of salt in the water. The salt in the water softener system doesn’t end up in the water from the tap.
