Deneice is really a key part in that Clark sound. You can tell the difference w/o her. Her voice is very unique when you here her singing by herself. She has that kind of billy holiday to her voice.

I started watching and researching the Clark Sisters about year half ago this clip was one of my favorites they were so talented and pretty like Dr Mattie Moss Clark said in the movie these are my pretty girls.
I just lost my grandmother. She had this vhs and us the reason I love the clark sisters. It sucks because now this music ignites the pain instead of joy. Please God help me get through this grief. I've never felt heartbreak until now
I know the feeling, I just lost my grandmother this past January. I was still waking up crying in April. Can't say for sure how long it's gonna take, but you'll get through it. Gets a little easier every day. She introduced me to the Clark Sisters when she bought the "Miracle" album on cassette in '94. Used to play it in the car all the time til the tape snapped. Anytime I hear that music, it takes me back to the good times.

@reggiemitchell5198 Bro you are ABSOLUTELY correct and I don't know how I didn't think of that, but when I read your comment my mind went back to a conversation Twinkie and I had over the phone close to 15yrs ago when I was asking questions about the Origin of her style and I can clearly remember her saying that her mother Dr. Mattie Moss Clark TOLD HER to study Vanessa Bell Armstrong and this is when Vanessa was in the Southwest community choir out of Detroit under the direction of Dr. Mattie Moss Clark, and Twinkie was in her late teens. Mind you Vanessa had a style that untouched and unmatched even tho alot of people don't know but her style wasn't accepted in the beginning by the church because they felt it was too worldy and it's blues approach ALSO I remember Twinkie saying that she had envisioned herself learning to sing exactly how she played.

As a lifelong singer, I can attest that when a cover sounds and feels like THIS, It's definitely Holy Spirit, AND the fact that those covering the song are Soooo into it, SOME of the acknowledgement HAS to go to the ORIGINAL ARTISTS, because their heartfelt rendition actually affects these young artists who sang the HEAVEN out of it!
