Same here! Native NY’ker, Yankee fan and Nebraska fan since 77. Seen them once at the Meadowlands vs Texas A&M, I haven’t made it to Rutgers or Penn State to see them, but I will see them in the Bx! 😎🌽☠️🎈
Parents had season tickets from the 50s and they got an extra ticket two games a year for me (half with each parent) I was 6 for the Gotham Bowl. Love NYC, my son born in Lincoln lives there now. Cheers and GBR !!
I have loved NYC every time I've visited and cannot encourage HuskerNation enough .... GO to this game! Yankee Stadium is a treat in and of itself .... fill that thing with RED!!! It couldn't be better .... BOSTON COLLEGE? We get to visit NYC and face a BOSTON team?!?!?!?! Cripes .... they might throw us a parade. (travel smart and tip your waitstaff, folks)
SCOTT FROST WILL DO GOOD AT UCF.. I love frost as well no matter what I remember Arizona state his first year then the following national championship he was awesome. I want him to do good as I always do for anyone from the Nebraska football family. After seeing the Wisconsin chasing 3, I changed my stance on Rhule hes good dude rooting for him to do well from here on out as Nebraskas head coach and I hope they win the bowl.. Love the Husker prayer as always.. brings me down to earth. Win or Lose GBR! Holgorsen is awesome as well I really want to see the Huskers play well just because this team is special and the ones that play in the bowl game im rooting for them big time.. they are capable and they are true Huskers and I love that.. Emmet staying great news.. GBR .. As for Texas, they are worse than Iowa to me.... I could care less even though I rooted for them when vince young was there to win the national championship and I think Oregon wins the playoff.. I would like to see Nebraska make the playoff I hate that we can't be in it yet..
1. Yes, rooting for Scott Frost. Rooting for any Husker trying to be successful. Heck, I’m rooting for Taylor Martinez to be successful in Real Estate. 2. The bowl games matter when you’re 6-6, or 8-4. The only times I’ve seen bowl games be the consolation prize is when you miss out on a chance at the national title. As you can see we’re not there yet. I’ll be tuning in for this one. 3. Alabama, just so they could be bounced in the first round. SMU will be as well. Love watching the Alabama collapse. It happened to OU in the 80’s and 90’s. It happened to FSU. Unfortunately, it happened to Nebraska and it’s taking them way too long to recover. 😤
I grew up a Husker fan. Once I understood football in late it's i watched and followed religiously since. I am very happy we made it to a bowl. Sipping Kool-aid that it is a start of the return. On Scott Frost, i could care less. I've never been a fan. I remember when he was a kid, he was way to cocky and not a nice person unless he was in the spotlight. I'll bleed red until dead😊 GBR!
the bowl game absolutely matters! if the huskers win thats big for going into the offseason and getting the players they want out of the transfer portal. the extra practices are huge and playing time for those especially on defense who will get to play now with the exit of some of transfer guys.
Adam, I love that you don't just wash your hands of a previous player or coach. As you know way better than me coaching is largely a fit role. Sometimes a coaching failure is just an issue of fit. Now a zillion rumors were flying around about Frost that I personally have no way of knowing are true or false. So, I going to call the Frost episode a matter of fit. I will also say that I really hope Scotty learns and grows from the situation and wish him nothing but the best going forward.
Been a Nebraska Football Fan and of all the sports programs since the 1960's...Same goes for Player/Coach Scott Frost, always have always will...I wish him the best of luck at UCF and look forward in the years to come when he gets UCF back to an undefeated season...Some Nebraska fan arm chair quarterbacks sit on the fence of entitlement expecting greatness all the time...Those who don't are a supporter of players and coaches no matter what...Say what you will, but as for Frost, he's the kind of guy I'd want to have on my team to go to battle with no matter what.
I love you, I have been a fan of Nebraska from the Devaney years. I attended the 71 orange bowl game. Love this team I need them to let me attend one more championship bowl game. Maybe I'll have a heart attack. I don't care. Go Big Red!
The bowl game matters. It's a sign that the program is moving in the right direction. I would love to see Frost have success in his future. I sad (and a little baffled) that he didn't have more success here.
Always rooting for husker alum to do great things, hope Scott gets it together and is successful there. Bowl game very important, winning could be difficult without our normal players who left, but a chance for younger players to get their chance. GBR!!
Yes, Hope Scott Frost former Husker player, QB nat champ, former Husker coach. Wish him all the best. Yes would be good if we could win our last game, nice momentum going forward.
The practices are infinately important for Nebraska. The exposure of a bowl game are invaluable for recruiting. A great winning performance goes a long way. Yes, the bowl is important in many way. As for Scott Frost. I like Scott, I wish he could have been successful at Nebraska, what a story that would have been. I wish Scott success in his return, living in FLorida now we will watch him closely, however, his 13-0 had so much to do with his quarterback and the Milton type quarterbacks are few and far between.
I want Nebraska to win their bowl game, been a NU fan since the early 70s (born and raised in North Platte). I'm also rooting for Scott Frost to be successful at UCF. Hopefully he learned something from coaching NU and he grew up some, any former Husker I'm going to root for.
We need a bowl game victory, just like we needed to become bowl eligible. Obviously, for recruiting, but also for the seniors that have stuck with us and deserve it. And as for Scott, I definitely have mixed emotions. But ultimately, I wish him well. GBR!
Adam: Do you think the mass exodus on defense is purely a reflection of two successful and connected coaches leaving AND the easy access of the transfer portal? If yes, should Ruhle have a philosophical change to his old-school approach to developing talent? If so, how do you try to combat it moving forward?
Frost is a husker great and put in a tough spot to be a savior of the program when he came to Lincoln as coach. He made mistakes but I sincerely wish him the best of luck and hope he has a successful return
Question: Does bowl game attendance help with recruiting or is it irrelevant from a recruiting standpoint? I would presume its value added to recruiting...?
This is my only college football subscription. Why can’t the football playoff just put the number 1 seed at the top of the bracket like every other bracket in the history of ever
12 teams is too many, and to me, the CFP would make more sense if the number 1 overall seed faced the winner of a 8 versus 12 seed (not 8 versus 9), number two faced the winner of a 7 versus 11 seed, etc. since the number 1 seed never gets the benefit of an upset.
Going to a bowl game is important to get the additional practices, to finish the season on a positive note, as well as above .500. I wish Scott Frost the best at UCF. I think South Carolina should have been the 11th seed.
It sucks it didn't work for scott at nebraska. No one wanted it more than me. All the hear say about what was going on is what it is. I wish him the best of luck at UCF.
I remember the 1996 season with Frost as our quarterback. Yea, a lot of fans were ragging on Scott blaming him for everything. I can tell you, I was one that stuck up for him. When Nebraska played Arizona State and lost it seemed everyone blamed Scott for their loss. If you go back and watch this game, watch the offensive line they played subpar. Russ Holstein, was slow and sloppy, I dub him Holstein the cow. After that game, Russ did a 180 degree turn around. He became one of the best in College football and a All American. I wonder what the coaches said to him that changed so drastically. Scott should know there were fans that were pulling for him back then.
Bowl game looking forward to it as for Scott Frost wish him nothing but the best hoped it would have worked out at NU but it didn't always liked him growing up will continue to root for #7
Midwest or the Northeast in dead of winter. One team hasn't been relevant in 25 yrs and the other team is known for the Flutie, which was 40 yrs ago. Great accomplishment for both programs. The good news. The 3 foot of snow might cover up the stench of New York.
The team could end up with a losing record after a season they should have won 8 or 9 games. Rhule picking a very bad OC, receivers coach and o-line coach has hurt the team last season and more this season. I have no idea what to expect next year as Rhule, Holgerson and the unknown defensive coordinator's are all questionable. With the current coaching staff the team will be doing good to get 6 wins next year.
I hope Scott Frost succeeds big. He is a Husker. I was as disappointed as everyone, Scott included, but I hold no grudge. Nebraska is a tough Bronc to ride. Time to move on. He didn't succeed, and it's time to look forward, for all of us.........GBR
I wish SF all the best. And win or lose, you could always take in a Broadway show while you're there. 1 of your 3 questions for the triip to NYC: What show should I take my family to?
Adam to have teams with lousy records to play is nothing more than a participation trophy for big boys.. And if your taking your young family to that shit show I'd give Jim Pillen a call and see if you could get the Nebraska National Guard to accompany you..
If only Nebraska could get Mike Tomlin to be head coach of Nebraska. Ten years, 100 wins minimum. Ten Years, 6 CF playoffs. Ten years, at least 1 national title. Matt Rhule goes to the Steelers. 10 years , 3 winning seasons. 10 years, 3 years in the playoffs. 10 years , 0 super bowls. Ah yes, to wish this would come true.
I have an idea. We all know Scott Frost will be a success at UCF,right? After he's there for a couple of years, the Cornholers can swoop in and hire him away. He will surely lead Nobraska to the top of college football. After all, If Scott Frost can't win here, then no one can! Frost warning!!
The key difference for Frost this time around is that almost none of his former coaches that carried him at UCF will coach with him this time around. Also he doesn't have an Adrian Killens and MacKenzie Milton waiting for him. I predict a near-trainwreck this time around.
So, you're asking if we want someone to succeed and to keep the comments respectful. I wouldn't think wishing for someone to not succeed falls in the territory of respect.
I honestly though maybe Frost should have just been an offensive coordinator, but that's just been my opinion, I think he'd be a great OC is why, his offense in oregon was fantastic
I hope Frost succeeds at UCF. That means he gets to beat up the Fluffaloes. We will win the PinStripe lawnmower bowl I would have rather seen Army in the spot. But, of course, the Beavers did win the Pac-12 this year....
We should have never fired Bo it should not matter how mad he got or if the AD did not like him or some of the blowouts the point is you don’t fire a coach who beat your rival in OT to get you to the 9th win you just don’t do that so we deserve every crappy thing that has happened to us
As of right now the weather forecast for Yankee Stadium for the 28th of Dec. 2024 is Mostly Sunny with a high of 35 degrees. Point spread is -5.5 Huskers
I have watched a number of videos on nebraska, yours and others. However, there is something deeply wrong with nebraska football. I am not sure what it is. I have been watching huskers for over 50 years now since i was 10. There is a distinct difference since TO left. 1 guy made that much difference. So, my question is what is the problem? Is it money? Is it recruiting? is it attitude? I can talk about all 3 of these items for quite some time but i have never seen anyone really provide a coherent argument as to where the issue lies. At this point, we are at best a mid 50 ranked team and I don't see it improving. Thoughts?
What couldn't he do here that he could do there? How does that work? id love to hear more about that aspect to better understand what happens behind the scenes.
A fan base that truly supports him even when they lose. A fan base that doesn’t trash his house and vehicles after games even after a win. Most importantly the players he recruited actually new how to work for what they want and a desire to be the best and willing to put in the work. A administration that gives what he needs and boosters that actually help instead of play politics with coaches and players.
@@Farmersforever1993 Are you suggesting the fans trashed his stuff? The only thing I could find was a burglary that took place before he even coached a game. What do you mean by "play politics", like push a certain player or coach against Frosts will? I don't understand the comment about the players at all, you're saying every player he recruited to NU didn't know how to work?
A) Wouldn't it be kinda cool for us to meet UCF in the playoffs? B) Two of the conference champs this year were in the PAC-12 last year.... 50% of the first round byes.
Every team should get the same amount of practices. Why would you penalize the worse teams in the league and make it even harder on them to compete? That’s not good for the sport.
Not sure how many seniors are on the team, but earning a bowl game in their last season should mean something. I don't like the transfer portal and coaching changed happening before bowl season. Looking past it is a message to those young men.
1) Of course I want Scott to get past his alcoholism and then he will be a very good coach. 2) Bowl game matters. We have been knocked down the top of the mountain, so it is time to get up and not let them keep us down. 2.b.) @@Farmersforever1993 Are you suggesting the fans trashed his stuff? The only thing I could find was a burglary that took place before he even coached a game.
What do you mean by "play politics", like push a certain player or coach against Frosts will?
I don't understand the comment about the players at all, you're saying every player he recruited to NU didn't know how to work?
Scott will be OK down in Florida. He can keep kids in state and win the Big 12 with Florida speed.
Lol putting NU in at 11 😂😂😂 thats badass 🤘🔥🤘🔥
Frost will win at UCF if he hires a proven DC. That conference is weak on D.
EJ coming back is huge.
Not sure how many seniors are on the team, but earning a bowl game in their last season should mean something. I don't like the transfer portal and coaching changed happening before bowl season. Looking past it is a message to those young men.
How did we go from making a bowl game to be a successful season. To complaining we made a bowl game?
How is this: Danny Kaelin to UCF?
LET'S GO HUSKERS!!
1) Of course I want Scott to get past his alcoholism and then he will be a very good coach.
2) Bowl game matters. We have been knocked down the top of the mountain, so it is time to get up and not let them keep us down.
2.b.) Yes and we are going to win 🏆.
3) SMU If you have 3 losses and no conference championships you are out.
3.b.). Boohoo you had your time and the kissing of your donkey is over.
GBR and keep up the great work ladies VB
Go Frosty
So funny that some "fans" are
now complaining about the location of the bowl game! Can't please done people EVER! Learn to enjoy life.
Phil Simpson is back officially
I hope Scott Frost is successful. I think the bowl game matters. I do not think Nebraska will win. SMU should be in the 11th spot in the playoffs.
yall wanting a bowl game you got one boston collee and you wait all this time for this crap
Can Oregon beat Ohio State, Texas, and then Georgia? That's a tough road for anyone if it plays out that way...
I was hoping the Cornhuskers would play Oklahoma.
2015 San Francisco Nebraska 37 UCLA 29
Yes
Yes and yes
GBR. The good guys 😅
NY is really pleasant in the winter - NOT! Hellish prices in NYC too. I wanted Rate Bowl in Phoenix, so I'll skip this one.
If we had gone to ANY OTHER bowl, I would go. But not NY. GBR
