Also, ignore the "Patreon" label on the end screen. I didn't realize TH-cam doesn't allow multiple external links at the end of a video, so I can only include my shop link. And as for the accent... sorry, I'm no pro voice actor!
Loving your content, man. I just subbed to your Patreon. Looking forward to both more dioramas and straight up inspiration for my own growing channel! Maybe someday we can collab as well?
i have a great idea, here me out Blight farmers, a region so densely covered in the blight that the peoples have evolved to consume the blight without harm, using giant harvesters to collect and use the blight as food, (and maybe power.?.?). this territory could be on the lower left islands. you dont have to take it, but still, this universe you are creating is amazing, and cool
Let me get this straight, you build these incredible objects from junk and then expertly paint them, you film the process in interesting ways, you edit the footage adding such very satisfying voice over and a complex soundtrack, AND write a deeply involved short story to expand the life of the scene you've built? You have developed an amazing set of talents, skills and craftsmanship. I'm blown away!!!
@@inairefalen8065Granted the death of the two protagonists did set him back, I think that the story made up for this deficit and expanded the world of the build. Though, now that you mentioned it his stories do seem to contain a lot of killing and 💀...🤔 Very dark, but I think that is part of the charm of the world of Aegis. Those little bits of life struggling to survive (if not thrive) amidst so much death.
This was a big challenge for both of us it seems! I think we both emerged on the other side as victors this time 👍 Thanks for the awesome collab, Eric!
I love how your stories have a twist at the end so as a servant of the empire she was probably programmed not to leave any wetnesses the authorities know there's more to the fungus but they're actively covering it up
As a parent of a toddler who was given two (2!!) of those type of caterpillar toys, and as a fellow follower of @NorthoftheBorder, I feel obligated to say: "Oh, hey! A wormie-dealie!"
Awesome collaboration! Beautiful build and excellent storytelling. I admire your inclusion of the test kit bits and your tasteful use of 3D printed pieces. Thanks for the fun entertainment as always, man!
@@gameyybuilds Have you tried fusion360? When I made something from a drawing, I just inserted the drawing 'canvas' the in sketch workspace, I drawed around (or you can use inkscape and the insert it to fusion) and then did a extrude and used fillett/chamfer at the edges. I am not that good in 3D design but can make nearly anything in fusion and much faster then in blender when it comes to these mechanical parts. Oh and you can learn fusion360 on a basic level in days, not like blender.
@@gameyybuilds I'm looking forward to it! Mind you it'll take a while since it's coming to Northern Ireland, but I'll probably upload a photo on my Instagram when I get it ^^
I love the idea of having a beyond the blight themed t-shirt, but the old droid isn't the one for me. I really hope these work out, so that in the future I could have a pice of the blight that suits me. I love your work and im looking forward to the next installation of the world of Aegis
Would definately love some more designs, though this one is awesome, the colors are great and since you carry my size I will have to get one. (Once the funds become available.)
Your handling of colors is getting even more compelling. Love the contrast between the palette of the Strider and the flora. And I can feel a unifying haze over the harmonious variety of pigments.
I literally can’t express how hyped I was to come across your channel. I kit bash my own stuff in my own world as well. I was greatly inspired by machinen Krieger. Your stuff is soooo good. Very very inspiring. I relate to your “form follows function” way of building.
Another fabulous video. These dioramas have that Heavy Metal Magazine vibe, but much better. During the story, I found myself hanging on your every word. You are an amazing and gifted creator. Thank you for the entertainment. ❤
Oh man this series is SO FREAKING AWESOME! I love sci fi and miniatures and crafting. I love grungy things and reusing things in unexpected ways. I love stories with surprises which pull you away from your little life… you’ve made this lady very happy.
In Blender while working on objects not aligned to the global XYZ axes it's helpful to switch to the local transformation orientation by clicking the dropdown in the centre-top of the viewing window (Defaults to global). This way you'll easily be able to extrude perfect right angle to your object no matter its orientation. Great video as always, take care mate.
@@gameyybuilds it bears saying that an objects orientation will only be affected while it is moved in object mode and not in edit mode, but a quicker method is to "Extrude Along Normals" (Alt-E) for simple right angles.
Dude, i love these kind of channels but your work and the stories that come with it brings your channel to a whole other level. What a pure joy to watch this. Thank you 🙌🏼
Damn... What a story. Have I mentioned that short stories that leave more unanswered than what they tell are the best for these kind of content? Just by looking at your build our minds already start telling us story, and then you come and give direction to our imaginations with your narration and an already awesome piece becomes a new type of art. Great build. Awesome story. Fucking unanswered question... Love it.
The pro way to make the cutouts in the legs would be using the knife and or inset tool to create faces that can then be extruded down. However I would not worry about doing everything in the most pro way possible, do whatever works for you. Also keep up your great content. Best diy channel out there imo.
There is lots of beautiful scenery in your head ! Incredible what you can achieve with just basic materials.. and of course your divine talents ! Blessings 🙏
Ok but when does the book come out. I am beyond enthralled with your world and stories. Like, this is incredible. Your story is phenomenal. I am turning into that theory meme. Thank you as always.
A collection of short stories (the ones from this channel alongside new additions) would be amazing! I can imagine these builds and concepts alongside their stories being a great read
I love your world building! Its so enjoyable to discover all the little tidbits of information you place into your world through your designs. This world would make such an amazing table top rpg setting!
Please please please Eric, stay away from resin printing as much as possible (which you did/do and I’m so grateful). Some of the OG TH-cam scratch-builders are now using their printers to wow us with their creations… but it’s always so underwhelming as to me, the enjoyment comes from witnessing/taking part in the ingenuity of seeing a form out of the box + the creative mind in progress + the problem solving genius. Your channel with its story telling, own language and culture is fantastic. You’re not just an architect but also a linguist and a story teller - a truly impressive combo. Oh and I love the ink and watercolour concept art. You’re just amazing. 👌🏼🤯
Everything you do is so creative and I love how everything's tied together in your own interesting little world it must feel wonderful for you to get to share it with others and to have them be able to interact with something that before I was only in your head.
9:38 I recommend getting a cheap numberpad for your laptop it’s so nice bc it’s right by your hand and all the default shortcuts are things I’m constant doing like 0 makes you go to camera view, 7 gives you a top down veiw, and my favorite is . Because it zooms in and fills the viewport with whatever you have selected and it’s also perfectly in the center of the viewport so you can rotate around it nicely and it just saves so much time
As someone that’s always super inspired by your process, I’m really happy to see this from you. Also makes me feel super validated with struggling figuring out my first sculpting project 😅
This is amazing! the storytelling, the building, the painting. I love this story and the concept and I hope you continue to make more! Absolutely incredible
Fun build. I like the pipettes and the globe under the belly when they were clear. I wished you taped them off before painting. That large fungal blight had nice translucent pinkish rings with that sculpting putty. It looked cool too. Sometimes not only different colors, but different opaque and transparent sections add variety. But overall good job on the project!
Oh ok, now the story gets JUICY. Amazing writing as usual, but the end of the story got me on the edge of my seat. The more you tell about this world, the more I'd love an open world RPG game set in it
What a fantastic build,& an intriguing story twist!Incredible work (& superb use of lateral flow test strips,ha!).Will follow this with great interest!😃🏆
