Team Queso’s first series win was for the bracket reset. I don’t remember all the wins/losses in this series as I’m finishing up watching this so long after it happened, but I think either G2 was going into the series undefeated, or Team Queso was coming in from the Loser’s Pool with a loss already under their belt. G2 couldn’t lose if both them and Queso only lost 1 series (not necessarily against each other). Someone else can correct me for details, but I’m fairly certain that’s how it works.
This was a double elimination bracket. If you haven’t lost you stay in the upper bracket. If you have lost you move to the lower bracket. The team that comes from the lower bracket needs to win 2 best of 7’s to win. Because G2 still has one of their lives left they need to lose twice
G2 won their group. Queso got 2nd in their group. This was a group to double elimination bracket.(kind of) only the teams that won their group and went to the upper bracket got a 2nd life. G2 made it through in the upper bracket. Quest had to battle through the lower bracket. That's why there was bracket reset

it’s amazing to know rizzo was holding them back. love the dude, but his heart just wasn’t in it anymore, he’s doing great now, but the team has such a better mentality without him
Well towards the end Rizzo lost his umph but there was many points in his pro career where he was the MVP.
@@phanepacc5065 he's always been holding them back tbh
@@og786. He had lots valuable to bring to the team, he was the brain of the team at his prime.
@@phanepacc5065 still was holding them back imo he was always the worst in the team
@@og786. Not really, his saves were impeccable

Queso the best

Wait I’m confused…how come Team Queso didn’t win after that best to 7? But then G2 wins after they win best of 7?
If for the top 8 World qualification we could have 3 NA, 3 EU, 1 SAM and 1 MENA it would be great (just gotta hope SRG... wait, Falcons can come back from this dumb last place finish)
It’s not dumb, it’s there orgs fault for not getting them visas lol, also i very much doubt it will be Sam and mena it’s either gonna be 4 for NA and 4 for eu or 5 for NA/eu and 4 for NA/eu
@@thund3r94 not being able to compete is dumb, that's just fact lmao
And I really hope you're wrong, new regions deserve some spots
@@Oussennessuo I think you’re looking for the word annoying, it’s not stupid since there was an actual valid reason behind them not being able to attend
@@Oussennessuo they only deserve spots if they can make good runs at lans, it looks like only furia and falcons can do that but with how good na and eu are overall I just don’t see it happening
It’s funny how there’s some people complaining that G2 got 2 series to win, yet both Cloud 9 in season 6 AND vitality in season 7 AND Queso in winter regional 2 won as the lower bracket team… its actually proven to be a lot harder to win coming from the upper bracket, based on all the historical evidence
Having 2 chances to win is harder than having 1 chance?... Make sense
What are you on about buddy...
The man has provided the most concrete example of correlation not equaling causation without even knowing it, claps
I think that was regional 3 for queso. In regional 2, they lost to Team BDS.
@@stuart313 Over the course of RLCS LANs, Lower bracket teams are 4-3 in Grand Finals, 9-3 in Series alone, and 4-1 after winning the first series, G2 being the first team to come back and win after losing a series reset… sooooo yeah, when on a LAN environment, when a team gets hot, they usually dominant after making a long run, AND Queso had already done that offline, so they’ve already played a longer, tougher run of games and did it with ease. So it’s hard to argue against history, just saying
*For English people who cannot speak Spanish, Team Queso means Team Cheese because Cheese in Spanish is Queso.*

I'm just gonna say it, G2 is the best team(at least in NA) at the moment.
Very tough to say, all teams are so even, do this major today and it will be much different.
@@lgbtskylar740 the team who wins the major is the best team in the world at the moment.
@@craiglicata7125 Indeed, but it is sooo close it can flip flop tbf, unless there are consistent winners or a team getting Top 2 all the time, which would mean they can be confirmed as best
@@lgbtskylar740 well they just won two regionals in a row, so I think it's pretty certain now
@@phanepacc5065 well spring major just happened, so either v1 or ssg is best now. but ssg IS a lan team, not an online team, so idk
LET’S GO G2!!!!
