I hope they change the outro buffs for everyone from “expires on switch” to “when switch, outro buffs gets halved and lasts for the remaining duration” To reward how much more skill is required in quickswap but not to make it the end all be all of the meta and force people to play it
They did that after beta (used to just be buff duration) I think it's not to nerf QS, but that QS would be meta and to not play QS would be nerfing yourself
I think Carlotta was a bit of a shift mentality wise. She is kind of the perfect hybrid between hypercarry, what with her ult buffing mechanic, and dual DPS, with her long animations that can be quickswapped out of. This leads to her rotations quickly switching between swaps and her being alone on the field in a Dual DPS situation, which is an interesting twist on the normal Dual Carry style character. As for the future, I expect the style to stay, and I also suspect that more DPSes in the future will have mechanics that benefit both styles of play that you have to build your rotations to properly optimize. At least, thats my hope.
Carlotta is great as a hybrid between a hypercarry dps and a quickswap dps. The only thing that slightly bothers me is when people upload videos where they quickswap mid way through the liberation which drops the massive damage buff from forte 🤦
I understand the reasons for the nerfs from beta. It sucks but it may have been best for the longevity of the game since it was busted. Plus, it can make for more flexible combat design choices for characters so Kuro can have more options when making them. That said, the playstyle is incredibly fun and satisfying to improve in for sweats like me. So I'm glad it's still viable even months after release.
At the end of the day, it should be up to the players to decide whether they want to pursue Hypercarry or Dual DPS, and the fact that certain buffs fall off on switching helps keep them relatively balanced with each other. Plus, if Hypercarry can still keep up, then that also means more Sub DPSes in between Main DPSes, which will also mean powercreep will be slower, as all the Resonators with their element and damage type will now need a Sub DPS who buffs them specifically.
Quickswap is more than viable. I'd argue quickswap teams are capable of more dps than hypercarry comps (the standard comp). But they are also more expensive investments and harder to play (but more fun imo)
the biggest issue quickswap currently has is lack of characters, because the only two that can work as a second dps is changli and maybe xiangli yao, but with phoebe and zani coming (i guess they'll be similar in that regard if they will work together) this may change
I’ve personally found that Jinshi, Carlotta, and Calcharo work well in quickswap and is very viable. Tbh if you learn a characters kit well enough and acclimate to which animations are most efficient to swap-cancel, it’s not hard to play quickswap with quite literally any character, or at the very least, most of the roster. I’ve ran Carlotta x Jinshi and it gets the fastest clear time in the current middle tower for me.
Basically dual carry quick swap is for skilled players who practice a lot for the optimal rotation/for having fun rather than focusing on damage numbers. Currently hypercarry playstyle is not unique since the rotation is always the same: healer buffs -> attribute buffer -> hypercarry. There is no uniqueness to the playstyle as compare to dual carry quickswap. Genshin playstyle is one example of typical hypercarry team doing much better than quick swap team because there is no character swapping between skill animations. So far only Camellya and Jiyan are the true hypercarries because their damage requires them to be on field most of the time. Swapping them out will remove all buffs/enhanced states which discourages quick swap. Carlotta, Jinhsi, Changli, Roccia, Encore, Xiangli Yao, Cockroach can all be played in quick swap team and i really enjoy playing them as dual carry quick swap rather than hypercarry (except Cockroach, he feels too clunky to play).
As a Calcharo main, I feel physical pain every time I see one of these comments (and they are everywhere). But I get it. Even with TAS gameplay, he's just mediocre.
make the damage amplified buff remain with quick swapping is better imo. it will not affect hyper carry team, while empowering dual carry team, creat more diverse teams build
I just got roccia specifically because i want to play her with changli, cus i dun have camellya or care abt havoc rover. In the overworld i quickswap trio carry changli roccia, yangyang and the mobs are being juggled the living hell out of and i love it so much, no way in hell is dual carry overated, i would say changli is perfectly rated but others are severely underrated like yangyang, zhezhi quickswap, hell jiyan can be so fun with changli combines with jinhsi, 2 dragons and one phoenix or even danjin quickswap, yes danjin is really nice with changli, i have used changli danjin against overdrive zone hazard tower and it cleared easily making use of changli lib buff on danjin
Unless kuro changes the core mechanics of the game, quickswap and dual dps will always be meta. Changli and xiangli yao(although to a lesser extent) will only get better and better
Make an alternate outro lower potency but persist between swap. Outro type 2, let you pick between normal and new type. This will make quickswap more viable, there no real downside. The more play style the better.
Well I watch a f2p player who has a s3 r1 changli so I'm thinking that's f2p attainable. I've got a s2 r1 changli and walked thru every tower floor in overdrive zone with hypercarry changli. Missed 3 things on the fusion resistance tower with inferno rider but that was 100% my fault. Ran it once and was off by 5-10 seconds and I completely screwed up the rotation multiple times lol. Spent an extra 20-30 seconds on zhezhi for no reason at all lol. Dual carry is a huge damage loss for me. Thinking I lose like 500-700k damage using carlotta and changli together per rotation. Each hit is like half of the normal damage plus lose at least 400k on 1 individual hit. Think yesterday I did 90k charge attack then 190k+, then 110k+ each of her liberation hits, then the final was like 850k+, and then her outro hits from 150k-200k+. That's plenty of damage.
Quickswap teams are fine, but I don't like the idea of characters being designed specifically for that purpose. Changli is super fun and they gave her the label "main damage dealer" yet she is straight up not capable of the same damage by herself that Carlotta, Jiyan, Jhinsi or Danjin is. I had no idea that was the case until I had pulled her, her weapon, and then maxed her out. Just to find out she can't compete as a hypercarry. Frankly they should buff her damage and change outros so that they don't expire when you swap. Brant seems designed to be played with her on a team but why would I want to have to pull 2 characters to do the same damage as other characters can do by themselves. Kuro has been doing an amazing job so far though so I imagine they will do something about it. Quickswap should just be a playstyle anyone can do if they want to, not a required playstyle for a character to not be useless.
I would argue quickswap does more damage than hypercarry, not equivalent. But that's with the caveat that you put in more investment and have the skill to play a quickswap team. I was also somewhat bothered by Changli's relatively low dps as a main dps because of her long animations but I've been running her in quickswap teams and easily outdpsing all my hypercarry comps (like Carlotta or Jinhsi) and getting faster clear times in ToA. Also their higher dps allows me to off load shorekeeper to a different team (likely swapping with verina) who may be struggling with dps
@@axylum4453 Haha I would hope quickswap does more dmg than a single hypercarry. But yeah, my main issue is that If I'm pulling a dps, I expect it to be able to full clear everything in the game. High skill ceilings in games are great, I actively prefer games that require skill from the player, but yeah, I doubt it would happen but I just don't want Kuro to start releasing DPS that are designed specifically to be played with 1 single other character and/or are not able to carry the damage by themselves. Especially because I'm someone that prefers to spend a lot of time on field with a character I love, and I prefer to only swap the minimum amount of times necessary for whatever rotation needed to full clear endgame content..
@ Yeah I get where you're coming from. I have the same feelings and it's especially annoying in coop where my main dps kinda just feels incomplete? Like with changli, xiangli yao or carlotta for example. I get there is downtime but idk it just doesn't feel like the type of dps that I could keep on field forever and feel like I'm doing something meaningful. Instead I find myself spamming basic attacks when there's nothing left and that's kinda boring. Phoebe leaks are suggesting the same kinda deal with how her prayer stacks needs (roughly) 24 second to fill up for her absolution state or confession state. Edit: bruh why does YT @ people so inconsistently. It should be @SAYU192
Learning quickswap gameplay basically rewards sweaty players of actually achieving insane amounts of damage outputs with characters built weaker than hyperinvested ones. This is why we see Yumi clearing TOA with level 1 weapons. Not to mention that Kuro knows how strong quickswap is that they had to nerf the next characters after Xiangli Yao. During BETA: Camellya can be swapped off and still continue her spinning animation and the Budding State Normal Attack Buff stays even when she was switched off but it got changed to how it is now because it was too good for quickswap. Same goes for Carotta, the damage buff for her Forte to her liberation disappears if you swap out during your 4x Liberation shots. The thing is though, that even with these nerfs, there are speedrun gameplays showing quickswaps still output an insane amount of damage because the 2ndary DPS is still helping with the DPS loss from losing your buffs. We will not be seeing any quickswap amplifiers soon as that would make Hypercarry Teams look way too weak. Also, quickswap has decent ER generation, better concerto management, a lot of repositioning, gap close and makes you look fucking balls to walls awesome when showcasing them. Good thing it takes an insane amount of time to execute them. Because its difficult managing cooldowns, Forte Stacks, Buff timers, Animation Frames and Boss Patterns when trying to clear content.
If I had to make an analogy, swap-canceling in WuWa is similar to Elemental Synergy in Genshin. In the beginning of Genshin, nobody really understood the nuances and intricacies of the elemental system, and how to synergistically pair characters up based on thereof. As the game progressed, people discovered the value of Xiangling’s no ICD on her pyronado, or Xingqiu’s absurd off field hydro application, or Fischl’s absurd 0 ICD on oz’s core skill. I see the same thing happening with the quick-swapping/swap-canceling playstyle. In the beginning of WuWa, almost nobody was abusing the swap-canceling tech bc nobody knew it was even a thing. As the game progressed, and more characters were released, people began discovering the swap-cancel tech. And I think what most don’t realize is that you’re effectively able to play with two dps with on field dmg scaling on the field at the same time, who can both benefit from shorekeeper’s buff. As the game progresses, the quickswap/swap cancel playstyle will become integrated into WuWa’s core identity, just as elemental synergy did for Genshin.
Hate to burst your bubble but Quick Swap was already a thing on the game's release. They even doubled down on it on Yin Lin's release as she is mainly a quick swap character.

To reward how much more skill is required in quickswap but not to make it the end all be all of the meta and force people to play it
That sounds smart. We should put that in the survey haha
Damn that’s actually really smart, it would buff practically everyone
That would quite literally change everything about combat. It would ascend into the heavens.
It pisses me off that Kuro made so many buffs that expire when you switch the Onfield Character, discouraging Quickswap
My hope what's that brant buff would not be like that to promote the changli pairing.. That mechanic is dogshit
@@cesarbrad286 Sadly it expires
@@maokeeyyeah that's what I heard, I legit see no synergy within them,
