Awakenings and Big Decisions

Have you ever seen "Awakenings" by Robert DeNiro and Robin Williams? Some patients from the 1920s and 1930s fell "asleep" for decades and in the summer of 1969, they woke up. they woke up only to go to sleep again.
I have woken up...for hours at a time. It seems that my brain has found a path to bypass my injury, but the connection is faulty. It doesn't seem that any effort in my part affects the awakening, nor does it respond to any effort to make it stay.
