    I LOVE TRAINS
    keep up the good work!
I swear there is going to be like a train that you can drive on, but it’s going to be as small as a mouse.

It's a bit late in the day for me to start driving trains - but I'll continue filming for as long as possible!

What a charming spot Muncaster Mill is (if you overlook the blue plastic wheelie bin).

Been watching your videos lately. Pleasant relaxing watches for me amid other things going on. I was very tantalised too to hear your family connection with one of the key figures connected to the Quintinshill railway disaster. Regarding the Ravenglass & Eskdale, I have visited it with my family once and climbed the valley around Dalegarth - it was before my mother died as she was among us. I've travelled on many steam railways, and my visit to Ravenglass was a really pleasant one. Regards from Suffolk, 30-year old Samuel Farris.

Hi Samuel - good to hear from you and glad to know you enjoy the videos. Eskdale was famously described by the great walker and writer Alfred Wainwright as "Lakeland's loveliest valley" - I, for one, wouldn't disagree with him. I've spent many happy days walking the valley and the surrounding hills and using the railway to reach my starting point or return from my destination. Paradise!
You must pay us a return visit one of these days. In the meantime, best wishes to you and yours.

@@schoolshorts Most appreciated. I might add that I have holidayed with members of my family in Scotland twice - both times we stayed in Edinburgh and toured in and around the capital. The first time was with my late mother, and the second we did one of the motor-coach day trips that took us round the Highlands and Loch Ness. Spectacular that was. Regards, Samuel.

Fantastic footage Tim and some good loco's, liking Katie. Hopefully they get more customers.👍

They could certainly have done with more travellers David - but both the weather and the overall economic situation were against them.

Well quite a day you had! Good video - it must have taken some work to edit. Noticed Mr Van Zeller still leading his parties around Murthwaite. And Cream Teas with Rhubabrb and Ginger jam were my favorites at Muncaster Mill back in the day. A shame foot and mouth led to its demise as a working mill. As for visitor numbers, I think everywhere has been suffering low numbers over the past days - I'd heard of someone expecting to stay at a campsite usually packed at the bank holiday only to find himself the only person staying.

Three very long days filming but I'm getting rather long in the tooth for camping - no longer enjoying the experience but can't afford the local hotels. PvZ isn't doing the Murthwaite tours but simply riding on the railway; it has, I suppose, been his whole life. The Ravenglass campsite was choc-a-bloc until Monday evening. I woke up on Tuesday morning to find I had the tent area to myself!
Yes - two full days of editing - and the usual low viewing numbers which Ratty films seem to attract. Hopefully bump into you at Carlisle in the near future.

Oh god, I totally forgot about that. At least you were there to film it. And remember!! 😅

Never mind - there'll be other occasions - although we could have done with the extra numbers!

Your camera does sound poorly still got great video with it though, the Zenith EM weighed a ton but was a good camera. I got a praktica after that which lasted until I went digital. We went to Muncaster mill and bought flour there a shame it is now closed. I hope the railway made some money out of the gala it will cost a lot for them to bring two locos from RH&DR.

The problems are ongoing as you'll see when I upload the Coastal Pullman video from Saturday - and it's not just the camera I'm afraid.
Looking at the three days (day three still to be edited) I'd be surprised if any profit was made - attendances were poor throughout.

Not when I left on the Tuesday but I was assured that re-opening was imminent.
