    Hey Scottie as an experiment, try doing the washes first then the line work. You might find it tricky at first, but then maybe certain shapes in the wash will help you find what linework to keep and what to leave off. Just a thought 👍🏽

      That’s a really interesting idea! Maybe I could do a side by side to see difference. Thanks Alphonzo

    If I wanted to just jump right into loose figure sketching and get my feet wet, would you say this video is enough information to get roughly the same results, or do I need to watch more -- like how to get proportions right, or how to draw faces -- to get the same effect?

    • @SketchingScottie
      @SketchingScottie  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are a few more recent tutorials that I published after this one which are really helpful. Some on techniques on sketching people and some for portraits which explain proportions in more detail. You can find them on my channel👍🏼

    Beautiful sketch, I struggle with drawing people and getting lost in the details too quickly, so I'm eager to try this more continuous line approach.

      @@SketchingScottie thanks again. I hope you have a w9ndeful creative day. I also watched your video on pose tool 3d and bought the app. Figure drawing is one of my many weaknesses that I'm putting an effort to strengthen. I like pose 3d box view it really helps me see the human form in 3 dimensions.

    Whenever I try to use water colors on my sketchbook the paper curls up and begins to weaken. I am suppose to lightly dab the brush with little water? Or am I using the wrong paper?

    • @SketchingScottie
      @SketchingScottie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes normal drawing paper will buckle when you add water. You will need thicker paper above 200gsm. 300gsm is the best as you can add lots of water. If you can’t get his try only using a small amount of water. All the best!👍🏼
