I love this man's work. He quickly became one of my favorite writers when I had to read The World According to Garp when I was in college, especially when my professor assigned a fun project for extra credit where I got to write my own part of the novel based on any of the characters that I wanted. I did just that....my professor loved my writing skills....and now, all these years later, I have a book in the works, and a lot of it is owed to the inspiration I received from Mr. Irving and his novel. I've read a few others since then, and have bought some and will someday have them all. Thank you, Mr. Irving.

Sounds like The Last Chairlift is at least in part a sequel to The World According to Garp.
