Sure hope you enjoyed this haul. When describing the Roseville, I used the word "paint" when I really meant to say "glaze". Sometimes when filming, my false teeth get ahead of my brain and I say the wrong thing! I was corrected by my supervisor. You might have heard his "meow" in the middle of the show! Thanks for watching.
Scott, you have a wonderful knack for giving most of your videos a “theme” about a certain type of collectible (uranium glass, blue and white items, or, in this case, pottery of a certain period) and yet you manage to have so much variety within the grouping. You’re really good at it and I simply love it. Thanks for another great video!
So many lovely pieces of pottery it just makes me drool. How can you copy these pieces? China started so many different styles of ceramics, why bother with our stuff? I was wondering about your situation and the storm. Let's hope for better weather. Stay safe Salem and Scott! ☔☔☔☔☔☔☔⛱☔☔☔☔☔☔☔⛱☔☔☔☔☔☔⛱☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔⛱☔☔☔☔☔⛱☔☔☔⚡⚡☔⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡☔☔☔☔⚡⚡⚡☔☔☔☔⛱☔☔☔☔
I have one rectangle shape pottery vase/ planter. That 50's pink. I really like that there's no shinny glaze to it. I remember the kingstone green vase when you found it. Exciting. All so pretty and great finds. I'm happily married...to all you ladies out there..but I'm just saying.. I dream of meeting Scott and that we're friends and we go bummin around together thrifting laughing and fighting over who saw it first lol. So happy I found this TH-cam personality show.
Back in the '60's, when I was in High School, my US History teacher informed us that to get past the labeling requirement, if it was made in America, the U.S.A. had periods after each letter. If it came from China, no periods, as in Usa China (supposedly there really was a town called Usa in China.) The one pot you turned over clearly had U.S.A. in the mold...very impressive (thanx to Mr.Dan Bodary for that class lesson!)---I was thinking of all you special folks this week, with the storm barreling North...Here in California, it's Fire Season, already underway.
Ah, Roseville. My Mom found a beautiful large vase with which ai fell in love. About six years later I was visiting family out of state and I found the matching candlesticks to the vase. Then a handful of years later that vase was only one of two things broken in a nasty ol’ earthquake. And thennnnn, about fifteen years later ai wandered into a little antique store out of town, and lo&behold I found another vase. Not as large, but still perfect. At this moment I can’t recall the pattern, but it was kind of a turquoise with light pinkish flowers centered on them. I’ve moved a couple of times over the last couple of decades, and they unpacked somewhere. Insure wish ai knew where, because I’d love to being them out again and put them on a bench in my bedroom. I’ve gone n too long, but Scott, all of those pieces of pottery were just beautiful. Thanks again for the fun.
Neiska was produced only in 1933, according to my Weller book. Most works are bulbous with plain, ornate, or twisted handles and all have white semi-gloss interiors.
I hate my granite countertops exactly for the reason of my collectibles. Great Pottery especially the candle sticks the ones from the 20's. I NEVER find excellent stuff like that at our thrift stores. However I was able to find a green Murano bud vase and I was EXSTATIC!!! THANKYOU FOR THE VIDEO!
I'm a big fan of all these 20's & 40's pottery and they sure have come down in price in the last 20-25 years but I just can't afford to ship it all overseas. Many times the shipping is more than the item for me so it truly must be something that truly connects with me in order to take the plunge. Thanks for sharing it is inspiring that you found all of this in thrift stores.
The bleeding heart piece is perfect. I would sit under a shrub in my grandparents backyard in Illinois and look under it to look at that plant. I would squish a few because they were puffy. Thank you for that wonderful memory ♥️
As a new reseller the information that you give is amazingly helpful. I have watched your channel for quite a while and I enjoy your finds and your explanations.
Just loved the blue watercolor Weller Pottery vase!😊 The Roseville 'Bleeding Heart' console bowl and the flower frog are beautiful!😌 The gnome was so special. Lovely video, Scott. Hi to Salem! 🐾
I know how excited that you were to find all this pottery, Scott. Very happy for you! I would be completely shocked too. My favorites are the Roseville pieces. Such an attractive shade of blue.
Omgoodness, you always find the best things. Must be where you live cause I would never find things like these! And I looove pottery. And if my goodwill has pieces like this they put it behind glass and slap it a higher price. 😠
So thankful you and Salem made it thru the storm!! We got a bucket full of rain but nothing serious, lol😅 Great video, as always. Love the Roseville, so soft to the touch. TFS!🤗🌈🌈🌈🌞
Well you have out did yourself today, I do love pottery of all that I collect ,pottery has to be my favorite, there's just something about it that I love. I even like the German piece. When I find something that i like I will pick it up, look at it for a few minutes, put it down and walk away but some how it stays in my head and makes it home with me. Oh well what can i say I don't have a supervisor like Salem.thanks for the treasures. Until next time.
That Hull wildflower vase I have... its beautiful with a bunch of Niko blue hydrangea's on a mantle or table centerpiece.. Its the feel of the glaze... it feels soft, silky and smooth like butta.. lol... thats how you can tell the real from the repro.. the repo's just don't have that feel to the glaze, it feels rougher to the touch..
So pretty, I wish I could find such great pottery here. Been in hospital for 4 months with Covid, on respirator. Still kickin, but it’s a miracle. Good to be back.
I love this haul video Scot. So many beautiful pieces of pottery I love it. Thanks for the video TH-cam brother ❤🖒 xoxox stay safe and bless and strong and positive.
Just started watching your channel. You have a wonderful way of describing the items, your passion is infectious. Do you ever come across Rookwood pottery? I have a small collection and find them to be quite interesting and beautiful. Each piece seems to have a history
By the time my boys move out and I can finally have this sort of thing, I'll be too old to care for it 😰😂 Not sure how much trouble it would be, but it would be cool if you could list the videos showing when you found each piece in the description in case we missed one.
Do you have ESP??? I was just looking up Roseville to see what it was like and from when. Then I was looking up Gonder-- I think 🤔 as I have a vase I wanted to sell it gets confusing just looking at 2-3 different Makers! But love watching you and learning over again! Thanks Cindy From. cindysthriftingagain
Can you request a pick-up from your Post Office during their regular mail delivery time? You could meet your Postal Carrier in the building lobby if you know the approximate time he/she will be there. I live in an area of single family homes and my carrier will pick up my packages when they deliver mail if I request a pick up.
There is a local Facebook/marketplace lady sellling her fathers Hull pottery collection. He passed away. It has butterflies on them. So beautiful. She wanted 40$ for the teapot, creamer and sugar pot. I’m not by any means a collector nor do I have a skill for these pieces. What do you think of that price? They are absolutely mint. I can send you a pic of all of it if meaning the rest of his collection, you are interested.
Well I can't really give an informed opinion without seeing the particular pattern and condition. Condition and rarity have much to do with value when it comes to pottery.
I’m so glad you enjoy the lovely things. The cost of shipping is determined by the USPS and the distance between my zip code and yours. I’m sorry that shipping is costly.
I can’t believe you are selling the pottery. Yes, I can. You are not into hoarding. Besides, I really think you enjoy sharing the treasures. I did think you would keep the York piece though. I’ll not try to second guess you again.

Old Curiosity Shop supervisor 😂😂😂😹
😂😂 supervisor got you!😀
Hey I have the same problem with my false teeth.. hehe
You're like me. You make audio typos. 😉
😆

This is such a spectacular haul! Every piece is so beautiful. The craftsmen who made these lovely pottery pieces were so skilled.

Love the Weller vase! I’ve had a soft spot for Weller ever since I inherited a Weller Baldin pattern plant stand from my grandmother.

Who's singing this version of ridin around in the rain?
You are listening to Vincent Lopez and his Orchestra from 1934. Frances Hunt in the vocalist.

I love your videos! I am having trouble finding sale page/ eBay page? What site do you sell your items on? Thanks
Thank you so much, Donald! www.ebay.com/str/scottsoldcuriosityshop
Were you ok from the storm? I heard the Schuylkill River flooded
Yes, it flooded terribly!
Do you own a vendors booth in an antique mall that also has a bar?
No I don't.
Curious! Is that where the saying, "the real McCoy comes from" meaning not a reproduction?
No I think it comes from the family feud between the Hattfields and the McCoys.
Love to buy some of your beautiful things but your shipping is out of my
I’m so glad you enjoy the lovely things. The cost of shipping is determined by the USPS and the distance between my zip code and yours. I’m sorry that shipping is costly.
❤️❤️❤️

What did you mean you are a commonwealth, not a state?
