    I have a 2017 Tundra Crewmax and can tell you I had all the same issues you have…especially when trying to keep the seat. In the end, I went with 2 Alpine 12” Type S (For mounting depth and xmax). In a sealed 2.1cu wedge box. The secret is the Seat brackets…. Remove the lower plate torque bolt, and grind down the pins. Reposition the bottom plates and weld them to the newer position. Re-Drill the mounting bolts and your good to go…repaint and they are as good as new. It gave me alot more space and Im currently working on a Dual 12” wedge with a Top Center Port. I just can’t figure the port length 🤦🏻‍♂️…. Subbed ✊🏼

    Make me one. How much? I got four 6in subs in my 2007 Tundra and it bangs BUT my box is horrible.

    Sounds like you’ve been where I’ve been in the past. The only difference is I haven’t tackled my 2016 CrewMax yet...which is why I’m here now. Appreciate the info!

    I bought a dual 12 inch box sprayed with bedliner from sound box on amazon and put two kicker comp rts and a 1000 wat kicker amp sounds pretty good

    Awesome video! I have the same truck..just went through this myself. .I'm went with a Kicker box with 10" subs pretty compact unit but it sounds pretty good. Wish I would have come across this video before hand I bet yours sounds much better than mine.

    I have a 2015 crewmax and just had Skar VD-10 2 ohm shallow mount subs in a ported box installed. They hit hard and give out a ton of boom. You can definitely feel them back there and it will shake the mirrors and cab if you really crank on them. I also purchased the enclosure through Skar. Just an fyi if your rear window rolls down you’ll have to do a slight modification or your passenger side rear seat won’t lift up.

      ya, I prefer not modifications. Thanks for the heads up tho, I think I came across a few options of prebuilts.

    Can we get a sound clip of the woofer and ride around???? Really interested in hearing it! Have been wanting to do this to mine as well!

    I had a RE XXX 15. V2 before they sold out. Thinking about removing the rear seats, building the floor up to fit some subs, and then have a flat floor for my two dogs.

      Hell ya. In my F150 back in 2008 ish, I ripped out the back seat and just had people sit on the big box. Had 2 RE 10s in that thing WOOOOOF that was one of the best I had. Massive center port.

    In the process of planning my own build for my crewmax. As a previous L7 owner, I'd love to see more detail on the box specifics and the nerdy bits, used to install car audio in my very early years (appalling old videos to prove it on my channel), and I'd love to get back to it with this truck. Nice video! Subb'd

      Sorry for my super late response. Been a weird year. I can try to put something together... I do kinda want to revisit as its still bare wood and I kinda want to test a 12 back there hahaha. Its a very weird box for sure...

    Great video. Do you think if you made a fiberglass enclosure and stuck that skar 8in firing downward it would fit?? I’ve got a ‘19 crewmax and have been dying to get a good 8in to fit.

    • @JohnKonye
      @JohnKonye 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      OOF, not sure. I guess if your port is still facing forward, is should work. The size of that magnet alone is just toooo much for the crewmax haha. I considered modifying the bolt hole points to accomidate... but I gotta strap kids into that back seat :)

    Did you try using 6.5 in subs?

      I don't think I'd ever go less then 8, and to be honest, I might be picky enough to go 10 or bigger :)

      Oooof, that sounds great. I may need to just use ½ inch MDF instead of 3/4s :)
