Me: Stash, pdf(w/copyshop), trace, just go for it. Fabric: in store, wovens all day, tumble dry (no heat), rotary cutter for life. Clothing construction: instructions, bias tape, serged seams or zigzag stitch, neither fly for me, buttons by hand, fusible interfacing, snip as I go, press as I go. Habits: daytime since I sew on the weekends, slow and steady, one big clean up! This is fun!
I hang everything. My only fabric store near me is an hour away and is a JoAnn's. I love facings! It's great to learn about our differences and why we like what they like. I also love finding how we are alike.
I’m with you facings 90 percent of the time. The only time I use them is if I’m doing a v neck. I cannot seam to get a handle on bias tape and the turn!
I’m with you on the facings. I don’t like they way they bulk up a garment. I live in central CA where it gets hot, hot and it’s just too much fabric. I’ll spend two hour on a TH-cam tutorial to get a perfect v bias binding before I sew a facing at this point. Square neck lines are the only exception. As for the elastic pants, wear what’s comfortable; I love them as well. I never thought I would!
This was a great video. Reminded me to get caught up on the Love To Sew podcast. :) Thank you so very much for tagging me. Looking forward to watching more tags now.
Such a fun video idea!! I listened to and loved that episode of Love to Sew. I will be getting on this idea, for sure. I'm with you on some but definitely feel strongly the other way with some categories. That's the fun, right?
I agree, I despise facings. Love this video, the comparisons were fun. French seams have taught me so much patience. We all have our little preferences 😀
I can totally see that being the case with French seams. I will say I’ve never given them a proper chance and I tend to over rely on quick and fast when it comes to sewing LOL. Thanks so much for watching & chatting!!
This was super interesting! I really identified with wanting to finish a project quickly. Its like you gotta exorcise the demon! Thanks for this peek into your personality too - you seem so relateable and kind.
Sewing edition "This or That" sounds fun! Can't wait to see your choices and get some sewing inspiration! 🧵✂We sent you a direct message on your Instagram. We would love to connect and collaborate with you.

I’m still new to sewing so to hear for the first time tht I have the option to SKIP FACING and do bias tape instead is 🤯
YES GIRL! you 1000% can - my only advice though if you ever venture that way is to understitch, it makes a world of difference.
@@thecuratedcurvy ooo noted thank you!

Great video! We're basically This or That twins minus following directions!!
LOL! I just did a pattern and tried to wing it - it got the best of me 😆😆

We have so many similarities on this list for sure. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
😆 I’m excited to see your video - low key because I’m so nosy and want a peek into everyone’s sewing processes 😆😆
@@thecuratedcurvy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. I was cracking up at each category but I'll try to have it ready by Thursday
Oh, this is so cool! I wish I was tagged!

Oh, my goodness! Thank you so much Julie Fortaging me in. I love your name because that is my sister's name! I look forward to doing this tag!
Love this tag!
Yay! I thought it would be a fun one!
Lovely! I had only seen the "this or that" format on instagram. 🥰 I will surely tag you if I have some time to join this game ❤
Awesome! I hope you have time to join in 🥰
Julie, what is the exact hashtag so I can put it on my video?
I too hate, hate 8:42 facings. You and I agree on most of this. I do follow directions. Don’t have enough skills to not follow directions.
We all need to start a coalition again facing LOL! I do understand following the instructions - I think at the root of it ,I just get too antsy 😆
The Flys are so dumb, I'd rather do the 17th c fall front placket, or a regular zip sewn in like an invisible zip
