Remaking my life at 42 is the most exciting time I have ever had in my entire life. I'm so inspired by younger people having that same opportunity so much earlier. Great interview, Super inspiring. Thanks.
I love her honesty about the confusion and non-greatness in the process of finding herself. Too often people just want to sound inspirational or make it all look like destiny when looking back on it. The reality is much more confusing a lot of the time
I watched a movie last night. A man working as a State employee discovers that he loves music at the age of 38. And he quits his "secure" job to become a drummer. I like what I'm doing, not loving it and I'm still figuring out my life mission. It's never too late, I believe.
Hello Sean. It could help you enormously to subscribe to a channel called " The School of Life". Considering what you said, I thought I could recommend you the following videos from their channel: 1. How to find meaningful work 2. How to find fulfillilng work 3. Misemployement 4.Why you still have time to change career ( under this one I wrote a comment where I mentioned a lot of sources that could be helpful. In case you wish to take a look.) That channel is founded by Alain de Botton. He is a wonderful thinker and writer and I think an excellent "teacher of life". I wish you all the best:-)
Wow! Thank you for this great interview. I can resonate with Debbie Millman, so much. It helped me realize how my path to purpose and greatness is not so singular.
Thank you Jonathan and Debbie! So much of Debbie's story sounds like my own life so far. (Up to being 30 anyway). I really appreciate the genuine and precise instructions for creating my own happiness and "success." --For CREATING in general!!! Gotta stay true to myself, no matter what...
Almost 40 and re directing my life, to align my new passions and goals is exciting because i hope it will be rewarding, but requires dissolving of the ego, letting go, and not comparing my life to others.
Absolutely AMAZING Debbie...THANK YOU....you said so many things in just 1 interview that were so liberating...so many a-ha moments in just 1 interview...thats great.
You could answer the question about great athletes waking up feeling like frauds or not by chatting with some of the Ultramarathoners from the "Born To Run" book. I think they'd have interesting things to say. A talk with E. Zapotec would have been great but time won't permit that although there are many others with much to say on that topic.
Milton Glaser's summer program at the School of Visual Arts is a class that debbie millman took in 2005 with him. Milton Glaser was an Illustrator and Designer and one of most iconic of its generation because of his designs for book and cd covers.
Esteban Mora what was the name of the class do you know ...when she says that she wrote an exercise about it ???? do you Know if he still teach those classes ... or if he has about that class in particular ??? thanks so much in advance have a gorgeous day
Princesaaymara It's the same class I was talking about, in which you can see in her old blog the exercise she did with milton glasier which is a modernist designer known for it's I ❤ NY logo. i don't think you can take that class anymore, he's in his 90's now.

Wow. 27:25 - 29:25. Great point about what it is to be happy. Thanks for sharing!
I love this interview. I'm 28 and still trying to figure out what it is that I want to do in life, so I'm definitely feeling this conversation.
I'm 29 in December. Almost feel like it's too late!

29:45 is golden. It starts within us, never outside us.
