Fantastic explanation mate. I was the same with transformers and when I got into Black series I realised I couldn't keep affording buying both. This year is when I came to realise myself I'm buying for the sake of buying when I was getting cheap figures from like Game and I simply got nothing from it anymore. I'm happy with my collection but I lack space to displace what I want to and I don't have the strengh myself to sell any figures yet.
Yeah going down to just collecting one line has definitely done wonders for my wallet, I can tell you that! Obviously, I've dealt with spending problems in the past, and one thing that has done is made it easy for me to recognise the signs when I'm just spending for the sake of it. It's a very familiar feeling, like a tugging in my chest saying "go on, go on buy it." I hope you can get the display space you need some day :) I'm in that boat at the moment. We're working on finishing our basement and then I'll have all the display space I need, but for right now, it's tricky either refraining from buying things altogether or buying them only to have them sit in storage until I can finish downstairs, you know?
The why is the most important part I think. Like, why do I want this? Am I just buying it because it has a Black Series logo on it? What is this going to add to my display, or to my collection? It's difficult sometimes, but way more gratifying as a collector :) I've always said I'm going to buy one Hot Toy one day, just the one. It might end up being that new Grand Admiral Thrawn they revealed. Favourite character deserves something a little special on the shelf!

And doesn't she love to remind me! XD Nah totally worth it, and I like the meaning it puts on the ring too. It signaled a very significant change in my life and really demonstrated a growth from one version of myself to the next :) it makes me very happy every time I look at it :) Thanks for your comment as always mate! Amazing video as always! I used to collect anything that was DC Comics as I also have my collection of Comics but then I shifted to Anything Star Wars but some figures were not that cool but I just bought them because they were Star Wars. I sold like 99% of my previous collections and now focused on Black Series and some Star Wars Ships, now I feel like that focus on the Black Series has saved me money and makes my collection look more organized than before.
I feel that! Back when Episode 7 came out, I went out and bought all the little 3.75inch mainline figures for that too, thinking they'd be the same as the little figures I played with as a child, but they weren't. They lacked detail, articulation and they all came with really absurd over-sized missile accessories which made no sense XD Luckily, that's when I discovered the Black Series in a Forbidden Planet in London :)) slightly bigger figures than I was used to, but the detail!! It was one of those core memory moments I'll remember forever! There's definitely something to be said for a streamlined and organised collection! I can't imagine what some people who saw my old room must have thought, what a bluddy mess! XD
I feel that. My only real regrets were those two credit collection figures I got and maybe when I overspent on a couple of older figures. I think we can all agree that while we like to have a Slave Leia on our shelf, that figure is NOT worth the price tag at all! XD
Nah, just a guy who has dealt with pretty serious spending problems in the past and has managed to grow to a point where I can recognise the symptoms of those problems and apply that to my contemporary life :)

Great points. I try not to get caught up in hype. I have got figures I now regret getting and I got them just bc of the hype of a show.
