- If I had a dollar for every time someone asked,
“Uvy, which language should I learn, Portuguese or Kriolu?”
I still won’t be very rich lol. But I’d keep the cash though 😉😅
Anyways, I’ve finally come up with the perfect answer for y’all. So be sure to watch the entire video and stay tuned for more like this 😁

Hi my name is Jude. I’m looking into relocating to Cape Verde. Please could you mind to through insight about all the process.
I don’t mind emailing you if that’s fine by you.
Already had a session with uvy she’s the BEST I only want to also do some research my own self as I wait for her response so as to know the effort I’m willing to put in towards relocating.
I await your response.
Thank you
You're beginning to look like a native Cape Verdian
Where do you live in cabo verde?
In fact Criolo is 90% based on portuguese, 5% on other european languages and 5% on senegambian languages. This is from research from scholar Manuel Veiga. What he found to be exclusivly senegambian is the syntax (the order the words are combined together)
Like also to know when is the best time that you will available so I can request your assistance in planning my first trip to your awesome island 🥰🙃🫣
Hi 👋,,,Hello from USA new follower to your channel 😀,,
My name is Gralin and my friends call me SNOOPY 🤗..
I HAVE NEVER VISITED CAPE VERDA as yet ??
"M ta fala criol" corresponds to portuguese "Eu falo criolo", it looks different still it is not that different from portuguese because it is 100% based on portuguese vocabulary. M is short for "Mim" (which is "me" in english) and "ta" is short for "esta" (which translates "to be" in english). So literally what the capeverdean says is "Mim esta fala criolo" which translate to "Me be talking criol"
If you learn criolo you will not only understand portuguese easily but also understand spanish more easily, because it is a simplified version of portuguese and this simplification makes it overlap between spanish and portuguese
portuguese is still closer to spanish than to cape verdean creole
most cape verdeans are fluent in portuguese, so understand Spanish is mostly effortless either way
How long have you been at CV? I’m capeverdean & let me tell you I’m very impressed with your creole. You have an incredible ability to learn different languages. I think it's a particularity of Africans to speak different languages. Bu Kriolu sta kampion!
I wanna come to capeverd next here .. any tips and guides
