So context on the song: it's about being Irish but seeing how the two main parties have destroyed the country for money. It's basically a critique of the neoliberalism of Fianna Gael and Fianna Fail (is their mammy FG and is their daddy FF), driving young people out of Ireland due to cost of living, housing costs, mental health killing young men; and being lulled into accepting this as a young person until you see what the two parties did to the country. And yes, they're a band from Dublin :) I speak like that too, funny enough, as an immigrant.

I saw them yesterday live in London at Apollo and this was the last song. For me it was the perfect song for the end of a Fontaines D.C. concert, it is my favorite song from them and for me a true Masterpiece. It will become a classic for ever.

When i first heard fontaines dc i wasnt overly captured, yet today, they are one of my favourites of all time and i dont say that lightly, and iv not listened to anyone as often as i have them sonce i fell in love around 2020.
