Theirs also an alternative, Falcon once made a countermeasure for Hulk, a sort of chemical that is non-reactive to humans, unless you have Gamma radiation in your system. Then the chemical acts as a numbing agent. Shield made a lot of countermeasures for the Avengers. Just in case.
