I bought it and have tried to like it. I gave it a fair test. Your review exactly expresses my thoughts about this tip. Thank you for sacrificing $50.00 to review this for us. I would only add that my hand felt like it was vibrating (numb?) after using this tip for a mile walk on rough asphalt. This is a very accurate review in my opinion.

I need to update my thoughts on this tip. I have been training for a backpacking adventure on trails, and this tip has been the best off-road, trail tip I have used. I'm now glad I put based it. Everything else is still true, but this fills that niche for me.
@@MrMagoo-wp7pq thanks for the update! Do you do constant contact when hiking? Or more just push it forward? I appreciate the update. I’ll need to try it more on off road trails.
@@Blindonthemove I use constant contact, but the side sweeping motion depends on the part of the trail I'm on. My vision is about 20/800 in both eyes, and my biggest struggle is details, curbs, and obstacles that blend into the background. I do miss things and stumble at times.

Thank you for the professional honest review! I saw other reviews and overwievs of this tip on YT but no one of populayr (even blind ones) not mentioned all of this. Probably i saved lot of money because all of those disadvantages would be a big issue for me, maybe second edition/design will be improved and issues fixed. Importing this one to my country + taxes + fees would be much more than 50 and slow, loud, bit hard to move tip (mostly for forward line) is not for me not for that money. I was thinking it would be awesome as constant contact swiping in hard challenging terrains and obstacles with different techniques but I'm sensitive to sounds and have really poor vision (like snow, sand beach, wild forest hike, mountain walk etc). Thank you again.

Good review. I also am an O&M specialist and bought this tip to trial based on other rave review videos on TH-cam. I was disappointed. For a tip designed to do constant contact, it doesn’t move side to side very well. Like you said, it moves in a forward motion best.

I bought this right as soon as it was released and never could get used to it. I found it to be loud (and I have Usher Syndrome!) and it was heavy. I only used it indoors, so I was able to send it back and get a guide dog! 🦮
I still have good central vision so I use this tip to mainly roll straight in front of me. it's good for that. It is heavy, so swiping it side to side gets tiring, and it is loud. I've also encountered an issue where after a few months the wheels degrade the hubs holding them in place and slide off, but I've superglued some pennies to the sides which fixes the issue, in case anyone else has that problem.
It doesn’t seem very easy to use. I can envision those rollers soon getting gummed up. But like you pointed out straight forward motion may be useful whereas a roller ball isn’t meant to roll straight ahead. The side rollers could assist also with a roll forward as you would like to slide it to and fro to check out the landscape at to,es. Useful presentation video👍
Thanks! it definitely got gummed up especially in dirt and sand. Forgot to mention that in the video. It can be cleaned but that's kind of a pain.
Blind on the Move I can imagine it would be hard enough for normal vision person. I have a problem with my roller ball getting grit stick in it and having it grind and difficult to move.
I have the king tip I like it it works for me

Sadly I have to go along with everything stated in this review, I got this from the US shipped to the UK, as I had scene both good and bad reviews of this tip, but I took it out for a brief walk on well maintained concrete and after only a short distance my arm was getting tired, and it did feel very sluggish with side to side motion. i've taken it off and put my usual roller tip back on, as I can just see the weight actually slowing me down when walking. I did used to have a very good roller tip that could move in several directions, but they stopped making it sadly. I doubt I would ever try this tip again unless the construction was lightened drastically and mademore responsive.
An update, I tried the tip again same issues on an hour walk, I contacted the manufacturer, as the low vision shop provided no instructions either digitally or in paper, and the actual manufacturer said it never occurred to them that instructions on care and maintenance might be needed, though they said they would create some, and claimed that mobility instructors had said the weight was acceptable. They also directed me to a video demonstrating removal of the wheels, but it was clearly aimed at a sighted audience as the person doing it didn't actually describe the location of clips to remove the wheels or what they felt like, just said you squeeze the clips like this and demonstrated, clearly not thinking about a blind audience what so ever. If I could I would return this tip for a refund, but as US shipping is so expensive its probably not worth it, as I doubt the low vision shop would cover postage costs, so I suppose i'm going to have to try to sell it at a loss in the UK. But the manufacturer has now replied to feedback and seems interested in refining the design and putting out a new video so that is positive.

Glad it was helpful! I did a short first impressions review of the WeWalk cane awhile back. It was their first generation and I was not impressed. Haven't been able to try the newer version yet. But I would recommend holding off until the make some upgrades or you get to try one in person. I have yet to meet an O&M instructor who is impressed with it.
Can you do more on touch and drag to find shoreline and touch and slide to check texture of ground.
I will just continue to use a roller ball tip on my cane because I don't have any problems or issues with my cane.What are your tips and ideas of using my cane with cataracts that is interfering with my severe low vision?
Hi Mike,This new cane tip is what I would like to use on my white cane but will it pick up pot holes on the sidewalk,ashfault,or grass holes
